@@truthseekeralways7050 Glenn did not like the fact that Alex commiting sucidue in the bathroom as in the original ending ..So that is why the movie came up the bathroom brawl that was in the movie ending..So she she did the bathroom fight scene under protest. From what I hear. But since then Glenn has changed her mind..And I just found out she was pregnant at the time too . Maybe that was another reason to 2??

How humiliating to be an actress of her caliber and lose to Cher.
@swooningtree
@swooningtree 14 күн бұрын
@@pamcornelius9122 Cher hasn't always taken the greatest care with her career but she is an extremely talented, intuitive actress. It's arguable if she really deserved the Oscar for Moonstruck - it's pretty much agreed that it was a consolation prize for not being nommed for Mask in 85 (much like Bette Davis's 1935 consolation Oscar). Glenn often has terrible luck in who she's competing against in the category.

I love watching Bobbie’s interviews on KZbin…it seriously my favorite i guess pass time. I enjoy it more than modern late night television. In this particular interview with Glenn Close, I find it just fascinating that Bobbie was shocked that a studio couldn’t imagine Glenn in the role…if only Bobbie understood the human condition and being a producer…you are thinking lots of things…one of them is revenue and making your money back…who’s the biggest star and will sell tickets lol luckily they ended up thinking of the finished product and why we still reference this movie today and has been remade now in 2024. It was the number 1 movie of 1987. What else do you need to understand that Hollywood has completely lost its audience?

An absolutely SHATTERING, brilliant performance. Glenn nailed it completely. This should have been, unquestionably, HER Academy Award win. This was one of the finest, most powerful performances in cinema history, no argument. They speak here of other actresses who were considered... The only other actress I could ever see fulfilling this role, to the degree that Glenn Close did, is Jessica Lange.

You can tell Glenn is a bit annoyed with having to defend the theatrical ending. It's sad that so often actors "lie" in interviews. Not her fault, it's just kind of the thing.
@scottbrandts610
@scottbrandts610 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely... She personally felt that the theatrical ending was completely disloyal to the character of Alex. Glenn totally embraced her (Alex), and knew that a woman like that can and does exist, and felt so strongly that she would have taken her own life before anyone else's. Glenn was a real campaigner for this role, and knew the character inside out. Amazing.

The second ending is your typical lame ending. Not saying that it was not good, but had they gone with the original ending that would have so messed with the heads of those in the audience. THAT is what you want. They would not have expected the original ending. The original is more traumatizing, and dark, shocking. The original would have made people leave the theater with their heads spinning. It would have been more emotional, and traumatizing. It would have lingered in the minds of the audience long after they left the theater. And those who watched the movie, and who were cheaters, or were even thinking about cheating. It would have made them really think, and think twice.

Fatal attraction was good ...however Audition was BRILLIANT The only thing that isn't believable about the character in fatal attraction is that she is so worldy its hard to believe she would be that naive and she is so socially skilled she would have 100 men eating out of her hands ... its hard to believe she would care about micheal she isn't obsessive ... also there is no back story to explain her damaged self ....why she abuses animals ....in audition ...its clear why she is damaged she suffered awful abuse and had that not happened she would not be this way...and in audition its clear she is stunningly beautiful and that is the only reason men talk to her but they realize there is not much more to her ....and she has no social skills due to her abusive and secluded upbringing ..you can see why she would be obsessive ... she literally sits on a sofa all day and only comes alive when the phone rings on a call from her new victim ..and she does not really assume the man is hers after a first night or date even ..it takes time but then she quickly becomes a monster ...but then i get glenn's point she IS just a generic psycho ..and glenn's character isn't

This a cringeworthy interview and Glenn is noticeably uncomfortable with it, for Bobbie focusses more on the nudity and what her Glenns husband's reaction than the character of Alex. It was shortly afterwards revealed Glenn was pregnant at the time of the film's release, but she and her husband had separated, and Glenn had begun a relationship with someone else.
