As a pianist, organist, and singer, I’m so habituated to sitting and standing up straight that anything resembling a slouch is very uncomfortable. I have a selection of dog bone shaped pillows that I use in the car because carmakers have yet to properly design seats for people like me who find the idea of a forced slouch and a forced head bow completely intolerable. My brother (who has lost several inches) and I looked at this video together and he will try some of these techniques.

Same thing here...I went to get a bone scan because my doctor wanted it. The technician was so short, she had to stand on her tipple toes to see the top of my head. I'm 100 percent with you on the exercises. I also think shrinkage is a nutritional issue. Two years ago, I noticed that I was slumping. I had T2 diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, brain fog, gum disease, and on and on. I discovered the Carnivore way of eating and went for it. Now all my ailments have gone away. I'm standing straight again. I easily lost 40-pounds. I am enjoying good health, great energy, no diagnoses, and I take no medicines. My diet is 100 percent animal based. Sugars, carbs, seed oils (canola, soy, corn, etc.) are all inflammatory and nutritionally deficient. I'll never go back to eating anything from plants!

So good. Thanks for sharing. Do you have a playlist for all sorts of issues caused by the desk sitting mainly? Maybe you can create a video for the people who are suffering from neck, lower back, hips issues (all caused by sitting only jobs). It's so hard to find videos for each part of the body to do all the exercises. Maybe a consolidated one would be great, like must do exercises to eliminate the most potent issues caused by sitting only. Thanks!

Decades ago, a famous ex-model used to train models. She corrected their posture by telling them to envision the tops of their ears as the tallest part of their bodies. When you do that, your posture corrects to a correct alignment. A good tactic to use when you are walking around.

I would think the number one thing to do would be sleeping position. As gravity pulls down and compresses one's spine during the day at night the discs need to expand again. Start out in the fetal position - a stretched spine. A couple hours of de-compression makes sense to me.

I’m not sure about chiropractic care helping maintain height, but classical Pilates can. The structured sequence of systematic lengthening and core plus bilateral balanced strengthening exercises definitely work.
@HumbleTrader00111 ай бұрын
I question whether decompression exercises could actually help reverse height loss, given that the human spine already decompresses when you sleep and will then compress again during the day. When you get out of bed in the morning, you're potentially up to an 1 inch taller (than at night before going to bed), due to the spine decompressing during sleep, but then this extra amount of height from the decompression is quickly lost during the day (maybe even within the first hour). Just not seeing how doing several minutes of decompression exercises will do anything about the discs losing resilience and the discs not providing as thick a cushion between the vertebrae as one gets older. Worth a try, but don't expect a miracle in terms of regaining lost height.
