I was in pain for a whole month. I have mild scoliosis and siatica. I only recently found out because I woke up in excruciating pain in my mid back. I was given steroids, tramadol and muscle relaxers. Nothing helped. Physical therapy didn’t have an opening for 3 more weeks. And then my colleague mentioned the TENS machine. She brought it in to work and placed the pads all over the spasms I was experiencing in my mid back. After 30 minutes the sharp pain was gone and stayed gone. Although I wasn’t 100 percent better. I only felt some discomfort that was manageable with stretching and daily walks. Before that? I couldn’t sit longer than 5 minutes without being in intense pain. I had to constantly lay on the floor. This machine works!

I hope nobody misunderstands this video. The pads have to go on the SKIN, not the clothing. I don't use TENS anymore. For some reason the pains went away after a couple of weeks intensive use of my TENS instrument. I am nearly 90 so I do not believe the underlying disorder has been fixed. I think all that has happened is the over-excited nerves have become quieter.

Ok. I loved my TENS machine, but it wasn't enough for my back or statica pain. I went to my phiso therapists, who the same as physical therapists. She used ultrasound machine on me. That worked for me. It's the machine it has a gentle heat without the image screen. I think Americans call it sonogram but without the images. I layed on the bed and she would run the tool over my sore bits. That's the best way I can explain this treatment. It worked best for me. I'm in Australia

I was diagnosed with sciatica a few weeks ago, the pain subsided on its own in a matter of days. Then BAM! The pain came back, I literally had to drag myself across the house just to use the restroom. Went to the ER that evening for some pain meds, I'd have taken a sledgehammer to the noggin, if that would've helped. Been in pain now for something like 3 weeks straight, nothing and I mean NOTHING has been helpful. Ok, I have had moments where there's little pain. Found this duo earlier, love their banter, did the movements they suggested in another video. Just got new leads in the mail for my portable TENS unit, so definitely wanted insight on best placement. I worked for a podiatrist around 15 years ago, a device he used, called Microvas, worked similar to a TENS unit; actually I think it was a TENS unit, just bigger with many leads, something like 10 or 12. The podiatrist I worked for was also a surgeon and specialized in diabetic neuropathy treatment. I had the opportunity to assist on a few outpatient surgical procedures. Got to use a retractor to hold back skin while the doc removed pins. The doc was a challenge to work with, not the best "people" person, but highly skilled.

What do you do when the Sciatica is on the leg with a Total Hip Replacement? A Physical Therapist tried and the pain was excruciating.. I don't think these machines will work with people who have Metal type components in that area.. What would you suggest? A lot of my pain is also coming from my S1 L5 Tail Bone. Which is hard to sit, stand and even lay down.. Tried the back exercises and it didn't work.. Was told Ablation or Discectomy, will see what this new Neurologist suggests.

I just had a hip replacement. The surgery exacerbated the bursa. Which in turn made my pain palpable. Painful to the slightest touch. And I could not lie on my right side till recently. I’m almost 10 months out from my surgery. Having worked previously as a physical therapy aid, I am very familiar with tens units. The prosthesis isn’t impeded nor damaged by using electrical stimulation. The relief from using it is immediate. But you definitely have to know where to place the electrodes. Hope you’re doing better Elizabeth.

I'm watching the video to see where else can I put it to ease up the pain because the pain never stops lol but I beat cancer pain I can handle this but oh being in this pain I get pain meds from the Dr for 2 days and I stretched my whole body out an walking is causing more pain where I can't notice for 2 days and I'm good for 24hrs then I repeat without pain meds because I only needed them to really get a deep stretch because pain meds is just a cover up you have to walk and stretch it out yourself. And I do love this device if I could buy more I really would an I recommend this to anyone. Sry for writing a book lol I'm just grateful for this thing.

Ohh guys I recon there can definitely be a wrong. I once put the electrodes on my arm just to see that it works. I accidentally turned it on way to high and my arm just clenched up and I lost complete ability to move it until I managed to turn it off with my hand that thank god didn't have the other 2 electrodes attach.. that would have been bad to wait like that until hopefully the battery runs out haha
