We loved Bobby "Blue" Bland in Houston, Texas. The Palladium and Continental Ballrooms were our Friday and Saturday night hangouts when Bobby was in town. Bobby contributed so much to our happiness and good times during the 60s 080s that the youth of today will never experience. -B. Dinkins

Yes whenever he was in town that's the show to see. His shows at the Palladium were memorable but even at other venues, Starlight Ballroom, Pan American Ballroom, Continental Ballroom the audiences were diverse even for that time. Al TNT Braggs, The Joe Scott Orchestra with Wayne Bennett on guitar and Master of Ceremonies Gorgeous George are moments in time that I will cherish all my life.

The great ones are showmen because they have style, charisma and of course the golden voice. Bobby Bland was all of those things..and when he hit the pop charts in the mid sixties it was a validation of a career that needed to be appreciated not only by the R&B and soul lovers but by mid-America and all those who just love great music. I met many young white kids who fell in love with this man and also started going to his shows and his many top 40 hits was testament to that popularity and talent.

No, he was not a showman. I was thinking about that myself. I used go out to see him a lot, and I was always amazed at how he would just stand in spot and keeping flicking and popping that mic cord! But oh my, he could really tear the place up with that voice of his. Loved BBB!

Bobby Blue Bland, stared, his career back In 1945, singing, and shortly, went to the military, and came out, to start his singing career, where he made Stormy Monday, back in 1952. And futher on down the road, and I take care of you!! How many people says , that today, honey or baby I take care of you, you don't have to worry, I know you been hurt, I can tell the way you carry yourself, but if you let me, one, and one is two, I take care of you. I have been hurt , before Mr. Bobby Blue Bland says because, he been there, and he understood, and understand, what's his lady had been going through. How many people says that today, in these times .Mr. Bobby Blue Bland says iam gone for good, in reality, he wanted to leave but didn't have the strength, to leave his woman, he left, but he came back!! Real love make you , stay. Then Mr. Bobby Blue Bland says , Awe, baby, with great compassion!! And hurt, with tears in his eyes, and he said LORD pleased save me, save me lord. He couldn't pull his self away from his woman, and he had been outside looking in and asked his woman to take him back again, then the last verse of the songs said LORD please save me, and then he told his woman, THIS TIME IAM GONE FOR GOOD. WHAT'S A POWERFUL LOVES SONG. THE BOBBY BLUE BLAND, WAS A LEGEND AND A GREAT POWERFUL, LOVE SONGS ARTIST, THAT HAVE YOU UP IN TEARS , AND CRYING. MR. LEGENDARY HIMSELF. The late Bobby Blue Bland he was 83 years when he passed away. 😢 Rest in peace 🙏 Mr.Bobby Blue Bland. We love you, ❤️
