Good chance that this was a result of the producer's bias and how that conversation went rather than necessarily Corden's (although it's possible that he just decided to ask the questions he wanted to anyway). Typically, the producer does the pre-interview and feeds the questions to the host to some extent. They (Corden and the producer) could have done better with the questions either way. But I find that with most of these interviews. They're often repetitive and bland. So impressed with McCarthy's dramatic performance in this series.
