The "Uptown at the Downtown" London variety show from 1982 filmed live at the Downtown Theatre and Restaurant at Surrey Docks in London. It is a bit blue... be warned!
This footage was filmed just shortly before Davro became a household name in 1983 following his television breakthrough at "Live from Her Majesty's". Interestingly Lee Tracey, who introduces Bobby makes a flatteringly correct prediction whilst welcoming Mr Davro to the stage. This excerpt contains just Bobby´s act but the full cast of the original show included the other equally talented entertainers: Ronnie Twist, Tommy Osborne, Lee Tracey, Mrs Shufflewick, Dave Cooper, Sheila Lawrence, Bobby Davro and the Brian Williamson Trio.
Davro to date has had a very successful showbiz career; a comedian, actor, singer & impressionist. Following his appearance on "Live from her Majesty´s" he went on to acquire his own Saturday night television shows "Davro On The Box‘, "Bobby’s Sketch Pad" and "TV Weekly". During the nineties he hosted "Winner Takes All" and more recently appeared in the long running TV soap "Eastenders" as Vince "Vinnie" Monks.
Davro´s own idol was Gilbert O´Sullivan and in 2016 he said that O´Sullivan was "my hero and a great friend. I got his album for Christmas when I was 14 and I have everything he has done since. His music has been the soundtrack to my life. I love the melodic style". - Caroline Rees. The Express. 13/05/2016.

Sadly Chubby, Tommy "Dolly" Osborne and Mrs Shufflewick (Rex Jameson) are no longer with us. They are sadly missed and fondly remembered.

His impersonations of Kermit the Frog. Frank Spencer. Worzel Gummidge and Bamber Gascoigne are brilliant. One of the best impersonations Bobby Davro has ever done was George from Rainbow which was spot on.

Saw Bobby in a show last night in Bognor Regis.....WOW what a great comedian, he had the audience in hysterics all the time he was onstage.....so many rapid fire jokes and he really gets audience involved ....Well deserving of the standing ovations he received at the end
