Btw the full context of him “hating chess” is that he hates how it’s become about memorizing
@ashish4451

Absolutely agree, I also hate it, when top Players are top, not because they are very intelligent, but because they have played so much, that they remember almost all positions and plans... If they were intelligent, they would be solving world problems rather than doing twitch streaming...

@@janl687 I can bet that if Wilhelm Steinitz would be alive in the 1960s and 1970s, then he would also complain how chess isn't as pure as it was in the 19th century. People just love to complain about everything regarding the present. Such a shame, because the only time you can ever experience anything is in the present moment, so it's not good how people just can't accept things as they are and complain for no reason. Chess is doing fine and well, I don't know what these people are talking about.

@@doctoreggman21 that's reality, look at magnus, peak chess memory, an end game god, unparalleled positional understanding, dominated the engine era for a decade, yet getting lots of draws in classical and some loses here and there in rapid and blitz.

Best chess player in the world is An AI. That tells you all there needs to be known. Its definetly all about calculation, memorisation and pre arrengment. The point of the game (creativity) is long gone into the absyss in modern era. I mean you can still win with it, but dont expect great outcomes in the long run. A GM Player generally has just a good sense about the board position and where pieces should generally be. A computer does the same just 100% accurate. GG indeed.
@chad1755

Except that a computer is not 100% accurate. For that to be the case, chess would have to have been solved, but its not yet. You should check out some of the chess engine competitions, where computers play each other. Very fascinating.
