Dog, Fischer is an uneducated, anti-semitic, and misogynistic troglodyte, who got obsessed over chess as he was unable to contribute anything else to society. He isn't a genius, he is a psychotic, egocentric conspiracy theorist. The reason he didn't play Karpov is that he wasn't convinced of being the better player, which he quite frankly wasn't as he did not even have the sportsmanship to accept the match.

Are you joking? Everybody has a team, and Fischer did as well. Carlsen studies his games too, it's not like there is a magical way to improve otherwise. What you encounter when revisiting Fischer's games, however, is that he plays about as accurately as Artemiev: not too bad but certainly not top-20 material anymore. What elite players will tell you is that preparation improved and certain computer ideas became more and more popular. There is no different studying approach than analyzing. There are dozens of interviews with Giri, Dubov, Shankland and the trainer of Praggnanandhaa for example that prove this. Carlsen is just way more accurate as he studied and remembers more games than everybody else.

@@gregorrichter4476 - The top players in Fischer's day were Soviets, so no help there. Bobby had to learn to read Russian because the information was in Russian. Morphy had it even worse. He had to travel to Europe and learn by playing masters, which he did very quickly, if they would even play him. There were only a few books and a couple magazines then. Not as much theory. Now all these kids memorize tons of lines. Do an analysis on accuracy once out of opening theory and you'll find that Fischer is as good or better than anyone who's ever lived.

The game itself is what I admire more than its players. It's remarkable how a few wooden pieces and a small board can ignite such fervor, captivating men and women for centuries to the point of becoming an obsession, a lifestyle, even a religion. Its simplicity belies its complexity, evidenced by IBM's development of a supercomputer dedicated solely to playing this game. Only the arts, such as line painting and musical instruments, particularly the electric guitar's history, come to mind as similarly revered. Fisher's manner of speaking resembles that of a rock star, reminiscent of Robert Plant, Jimi Hendrix, or John Lennon, yet I find it appealing. It's bewildering that some people are always disinterested and unfulfilled with life when there is so much to discover.

More than the players I admire the game itself. How can this platform of a few wooden pieces and a small board unleash so much passion, to become men and women obsession, a lifestyle, almost a religion, for hundreds of years. To be so simple yet so complex that IBM designed a super computer just to play this game. The only thing that I remember being so venerated to this level, are the arts line painting, and musical instruments, specially the history of electric guitar. The way that Fisher talks is the way a rock star talks. Like hearing Robert Plant, Jimi Hendrix or John Lennon. But I like it. I cannot understand how there are people around who are always bored and fed up with life when there so many things to learn. P.S: Yo dumbasses I stole this comment from another video so stop liking
