proper legend. I love Bristow and Taylor but Bobby George changed the game with his personality. I have played darts against him and he is a genuine entertainer on the oche and a gentlemen off it

Bobby was a pioneer for sure - you can never take that away from him. AND he did shoot 3 double bulls and that shows that he still keeps in practice. Try throwing three double bulls. If you hit them often in matches you'd probably be a contender too!

Bobby's no mug, the house has all those bedrooms because he runs a conference business there, that is big business although maybe tailing off a little due to the current climate. His fishing lakes are good as well, if he wasn't well known as a person those lakes would still be successful. I think the main difference is that Bobby is older than Eric, and he had 15 years grafting on a building site before he even picked up a set of darts.

Eric was not "unknown" in 1980, he'd already won the World Masters twice and was the No. 1 seed in the first World Championship in 1978.

The commentary is nonsense: Bristow was not an unknown in 1980! He was world number one in 1978, and by the time of this final, he, John Lowe and Leighton Rees were all household names. Bobby was the unknown.
