Beautifilul. Can't wait for the audiobook. "Tenement Kid" is a really great piece. I highly recommend this one. I adore Mr. G as a singer but Bobby should also narrate movies or something because listening to him talking is just pure pleasure as well.

Really? Are you a fuqqin masochist, couldn't think of anything much worse than listening to this used to be catastrophically abuse the English language for a whole fuqqin book. This waste of oxygen's the epitome of bullshit music press hype.Primal Scream were UTTER SHIT with one MASSIVELY OVERRATED ALBUM that was only barely listenable due to Weatheralls input, all other albums are complete and utter dogshit, facts, and deep down you know this to be truth. The reason the music press used Gillespie for literary masterbation is because he talked a good album, just like the equally overrated and shite Manics.Terrible absolutely terrible "artists".Bollocks.

Great book, I'm reading it now. By the way, Bobby your last gig with JAMC was at the Royal Court in Liverpool not the Liverpool Empire. I was there. The Empire has Panto's and shows on where the Royal Court had the love bands of the moment. Fantastic read non the less. We grew up loving all the same music!

just reading this book now-interesting to read that when gillespie was at school, a teacher , out of the blue, showed the class the movie "if..." by lindsay anderson- exactly the same thing happened at our school- i am about the same age as bobby gillespie , and one of our teachers showed my class part of the same movie (the famous scene where the pupils are shooting guns at all and sundry)- it was not part of any subject at school, and there was no discussion about what we had just watched- we just watched it and that was it- it was almost as if after being brainwashed by the school system for over 12 years, the educational system were prepared to give us a glimpse of subversive rebellion, and that was all we were getting- it was weird and i have always remembered it - it was also odd that this was in 1976, well before video cassettes were available, and i distinctly remember it being shown via a tv screen

I think this is a classic case of Mandela effect

Loved the book, Bobby. I related to so much of what it meant to grow up in Glasgow in the 70s. Thanks man.

11.55...Bobby's expression like he's reading his words out loud for the first time and thinking "eh?" For better or worse, that's one soulful fckin' guy.

I remember trying to drive home once on acid and the rain turned into flies. Big f-ing flies that me and my mate Paul thought were getting in through the heater vents. I ended up mounting the pavement and hitting a lamp-post. Funny how everyone on acid seems to see swarms of bugs of some kind.
