My life changed forever by this soundtrack. Me - a young American living in France on a canal boat (Peniche), with my busker roommates from Japan, UK, Spain, Ireland, etc. (yes... you Captain Paul from County Cork Ireland) ... best days and saddest days... and Primal Scream was our Sound track ...we learned of Kurt Cobain's passing here... quite a marker in one's musical life. Along with many other cultural adventures. I was only 22/23yo at the time and it was the best soundtrack to my life. (at least the 90s ;) yeah)

Much of the british 90s alternative rock took inspiration from the British Invasion and the hippie movement... This song in particular has a lot in common with Sympathy for the Devil, while ironically utilizing gospel tropes.
