I was going to say the same thing. I don't find Bobby as funny as others do, I mean I get it, it just doesn't hit for me. But seeing serious Bobby made me realize how smart, kind and thoughtful he is. Wish I could see more of him like this.

That Build A Bear thing happened randomly with me. One day, when i was maybe 26, i found a photograph of me as a cute, little boy, with rosy, chubby cheeks, smiling at the camera, defenseless and small. And I realised how hard I was on myself and realised that that little boy still lived in my adult body, and I should be so much kinder to myself, be gentle like I would to my 3-year-old self. Very powerful moment. I cried too

What a time to be alive where two comedians are having conversations like this. What an incredible shift from what Bobby’s parents went through. It gives me such hope to think that similar healing from trauma is possible for those living in war-torn communities now.

I guarantee you if any L.A comedian would’ve presented this question to Bobby, they would’ve been laughing uproariously. Rainn handled it so respectfully.

20 years ago a therapist told me to buy a stuffed toy, like a teddy bear to bring to sessions. (Like Bobby I found it embarrassing). The therapist guided me through childhood memories and had me talk to bear like it was a child (me). It’s pretty amazing the effects it can have. Bits of inner calmness, softens the impact of memories, etc

Hang in there mate, we have all felt hopelessness like that before. You have to find the treatment that works for you and this could be it. 5 years ago I couldn't get outta bed for 9 months due to severe depression due to trauma. Once I found a treatment that worked I was back on track. It took a few years, but we do recover, and you can too. Best of luck to you mate.
