Males account for approximately 77.9% of all suicides. The female population is more likely to have thoughts of suicide than males according to the CDC. I think men are just less likely to admit that they have thoughts of suicide, because they think that no one really cares at best or will ridicule them at worst. Either way we need an overhaul of how we run our schools and teach kids how to manage social media in a healthier capacity. Even our diet and activity levels need to be changed.

When we accept that nature's requirements for the earliest of years surpasses, by far, our culture's accepted paradigms, we may acknowledge that multiple generations of collective neglect during these early years is manifesting in "the 10,000 ways" we call "the problems", for which we now have 10,000 names, yet no real solutions. Interpersonal Neurobiology (Drs. Allan Schore, "The first 1000 Days", Sue Miller, Bruce Perry "Roots of Empathy", Ed Tronic) shines clear lights on the import of a newborn/infant/toddler having a regulated caregiver, Winnicott's "Good Enough Mother" (capable of withstanding the onslaught of the infant's raw emotion without retribution or abandonment) beavailable 24-7 for the first two-years of life. Intergenerational Trauma (Dysregulated CNS) underlies much/most of the addictions "mental illness" presently observed. Inconvenient truth, yes. "Psychology/Psychiatry measures a person's adaptation to the society in which they find themselves. No inquiry, however, as to that society's adaptation to the natural order of things is made"- Hubert Benoit- "Zen and the Psychology of Transformation"

I believe the #1 isolating technology for children in my community is our transportation choice, the automobile. Kids are not allowed to play where cars drive, and that happens to be everywhere. Parents have to drive kids so they can socialize. It is a complete lack of autonomy for these developing children, so they doom scroll instead and poison their minds. I have a solution to this problem, Un-Isolating Technologies. (Such as) The Electric Wheel has given me true freedom, complete independent sustainable transportation and reconnected me to my community. There are solutions when we identify and isolate the problems. Thank you for discussing this subject!

I found the pod/show a few months ago and have largely enjoyed it. It’s way out of my ‘comfort zone’ but I’m weirdly drawn to it, especially Jeff’s Day Shifts. My wife has been a mindfulness advocate since her grad school days (Naropa in Boulder, CO) but it’s never clicked for me. I’m an introvert and am in my own head most of the time, so maybe I was being mindful without intending to? But...there’s always a ‘but’, right? I really bounce off the ‘god’ talk. I gave up on the idea of a god(s) a long time ago. My sister died of lung cancer in ‘75 two months before her 12th bday and one month before my 5th. My F YOU GOD phase started in my teens. My father passed from the same disease in ‘04. (Non-smoking household btw.) To add insult to injury, he was a life long Red Sox fan, passed away in June only a few short months from them winning the Series! Two years ago my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy, but at least she seems to be free of it and is doing well. Just last month my best friend (friends since childhood, best man at my wedding, etc.) was diagnosed with colon cancer, had the operation last week and all looked good but a lymph node came back positive so chemo starts next month. I’m not looking for a pity party just stating why the idea of a god(s) is a hard sell for me. And honestly not something I’m looking for, but maybe something to explain the ‘why’? Does the ‘why’ need explaining? Shit happens. I’m still listening even if there’s 10% of the show I don’t vibe with. (I couldn’t make it through the Author Brooks ep. Too preachy.) But I do appreciate what you’re trying to do and maybe I’ll learn something about myself. Better late than never, eh? PS This is a silly gaming ID that I made for use back when I played Guild Wars 2 so now I use for my nerdy D&D content consumption/everything else I’m finding interesting on YT.

Our relationship with the universe mirrors our relationship with ourselves and others. Its those difficult conversations that bring us closer. Flowery prayers all tied in a bow arent what makes us grow, but rather those raw moments where we take our masks off and truly communicate how we feel. The universe doesnt want ribbons, it wants honesty. And as self aware as it must be of all earthly suffering, saying Fck you God is the highest form of honest feedback we can give in moments like that. 😂Love this podcast 🔥💯👑

Wow, what a beautifully articulated perspective! 🙌 You’re absolutely right-those raw, unfiltered moments of honesty are where real growth and connection happen, both with ourselves and the universe. Such a powerful way to frame it. Thank you for sharing your insight and for the love! Hope you'll check out more Wisdom Dumps 💩🦄

These Pagan ideas can all be found in Christianity. God is the creator and the Holy Spirit is the energy moving in the world. God shows himself through the true, good and beautiful. He created the beautiful sun, mountains, animals, and nature but we shouldn’t make an idol out of these things. Western Christianity and Protestantism has changed the religion and infected it with materialism but the true faith is still restored. Our language has been diluted and many have forgot the ancient spiritual aspect of Christianity. Jesus is the divine logos (truth).

This is such a helpful episode. I have death anxiety. I have experienced a few traumatic deaths in my life, the largest and most impactful was the death of my Dad, he was attacked and died due to his injuries, when I went to identify his body I was deeply disturbed by seeing him there but the lack of his essence, it was traumatic for me, i didnt get to witness the transition so for me it was as if he was just gone and knowing his passing was violent stayed with me for a long time. I was lucky enough to have profound experiences after his death during meditation where he was present. Beautiful talk, thank you.

Yess love this. The mantra I've been using a lot lately is "the more I let go, the better I feel." I'm also a huge fan of Michael Singer 💜💜 ETA idk that there "is always a way." His Warren Buffett story proves that. I completely agree with Rainn that the fourth door is a much better way! Go with the flow, ask for help, and act on your inspiration, but don't try to force, control, hustle, or manipulate. Especially when it involves violating others' boundaries.

Love your mantra-letting go really is transformative! 💜 Michael Singer's insights are so powerful, and I’m with you on embracing the fourth door approach. Flow, inspiration, and respect for boundaries truly create the best outcomes. 🙌
