The reason Bobby blurts stuff out is because things that weigh so heavily on his mind (getting someone pregnant, dad having a stroke, etc) are so distressing that subconsciously he thinks if he tells other people some of that weight will be lifted. Clinical Psychologist Opinion.

@@callanc3925 I have no bearing on whether Bobby is narcissistic or not, but generally speaking, it can be quite manipulative to tell someone you barely know a deep dark secret, and that's a typical covert narcissism move. They do it so as to assert a type of premature closeness that is normally only achieved with time and consistent socialization with someone. I don't know if him getting her pregnant is a dark secret because I don't know what their circumstances are, but do know that trauma bonding is a very real thing. Narcissists and manipulators share sensitive information and get too close for comfort to try to get you to do the same, and to illicit sympathy from you so that you'll always treat them leniently no matter what.

Makes sense, but there is ego involved as well. Lack of confidence and loneliness causes people to commit drive-by emotional dumps on the unsuspecting. The more shocking and personal, the more of a dent they leave in the interaction. This makes them feel unique and in control. At the same time, they are imposing a connection to someone else. This satisfies ego, and is a temporary salve for loneliness because they know that it takes more to make a true connection with someone. People like this tend to be compulsive liars who are also brutally honest. They can be profoundly expressive but have many secrets. It's a trait often found in artists and creative people. They exploit their own experiences to try to manipulate how they are perceived, but are incredibly attentive and encouraging of others. Selfish and generous. A walking paradox. And most likely a tortured soul. Bobby Lee is an amazing, flawed human like many of us are.
