Bobby Rodriguez & La Compania came out in Summer 1975. They played at Manhattan's EL CHICO EAST St to a full house that summer. After that Bobby became the house band @ EL CORSO on E.86th St. (1978). At some point Watussi (Venezuelan) became Bobby's lead singer.

Bobby Rodriguez opened for the Fania Allstars at the Madison Square Garden in the late 1970s. When they played Numero 6 the crowd, including me, went wild. That fabulous band was the joint. Later on the spectacular Fania Allstars didn't dissapoint. They even had a Barretto, and Mongo duel and Man oh man, it was hot. Those were the days. RIP to all who have passed, and a wink to all now who were blessed to actually see these musical dynamos in their glory days.
