Joe Diffie talks about how his song John Deere Green was never a no. 1 song. He talks about moving to Nashville after being laid off, singing demos in the 80’s and what it was like to tour during the 90’s. He also talks about how a resurgence happened in his career after his name drop Jason Aldean’s “1994”.

Love the interview. Wish Joe Diffie was still with us. FYI: Dennis Linde who wrote "John Deere Green" wrote Burnin Love, that Elvis sang.

John Deere Green happens to be my favorite Joe Diffie song. A-Night To Remember,Whole Lotta Gone,It’s Always Something ,If You Want Me Too, and Is It Cold In Here are my favorites even though all his songs were excellent. RIP legend!

I was able to see Joe Diffie several times in the 90's and four times in the 2000's. Of course the later 2000's were mostly in Casinos and smaller theaters...but Stadium or Intimate Venue he always delivered. EVERY SINGLE TIME. He'd tell personal stories and shared&joked in between songs. And he was always so thoughtful towards his Band by giving each one their moment in the spotlight to shine. When I heard he died from Covid was a sad day. I still love listening to him . ********* On a different note, im going to Subscribe to your Podcast after watching this Interview. I love your Interviewing style Bobby Bones

Huge loss. Joe was obviously humble and friendly. Great interview! He played in a small place in Tuscaloosa recently but I unfortunately missed it. Love so many of his songs. Tough to pick a favorite but "Texas size heartache" was at the top of my list. RIP.

Love Joe Diffie, but I wished you would have asked about Twice upon a time, and Something Like This. When he passed I sat on my back deck and cried like a little baby listening to those two songs. Great interview Bobby. Thank You.

I'm from his small hometown of Velma-Alma. My dad was in his class and played football with him. It's so inspiring to have someone break out from a place you would think dreams never can happen. Thank you for this video.

I couldn't agree more. Collin Ray was tremendous. We saw him again a couple of years ago at a little amphitheater by our house.

Great interview, Bobby! I believe I'm probably as big a Joe Diffie fan as you obviously are. I never got to meet him but you did this interview just as I would have done it if I'd had the chance. You asked all the right questions and it didn't hurt a bit that you two were obviously good friends. It's such a sad loss that Joe has left us but he has also left behind a lot of great songs to remember him by.
