Brandon Clark I’m still young and I like it me and the old man also we in 5000 acres of dry fields and rice fields central LA and we don’t get ducks like people say Ohhh yea you hunt in rice blah blah well them ducks are traumatized by the time they get to Louisiana but we always slaughter the snows and specks and manage a good amount of ducks

Love the solo pack in hunts! Public marshes are some of the toughest hunting around. The waterfowl get educated fast, and you have to change up your technique quickly to stay fresh. I think that's what I enjoy the most. Fred looks like he's love'n the game.

Glad to see you promoting gun safety. I see way to many newer shooters and hunters who didn't grow up around it, not being safe. I remember one time I accidentally pointed my shotgun in a unsafe direction. I didn't get to hunt that whole weekend. My grandpa was really strict with saftey. That was over 20 years ago, and I still remember like it was yesterday.

Bobby the first year mo-Jo’s came out you could not get one for less than $1000 bucks due to they could not make them fast enough! I made my first one using a 12 volt double shafted blower motor for a 60 something model ford truck. I made the wings from sheet metal and used a hen decoy screws to some plywood w/about a 6’ pole attached to plywood. I then used two 6v dc batteries in series to run the home made mojo! Dude it worked so good the first two years it was crazy. It could be a blue bird day sitting up in a small mud hole in the delta of Mississippi using a dozen dec’s. We would hear their wings cutting the wind and still could not see the ducks they were so high. We literally seen them almost break their necks looking back to see the homemade mojo. They would circle back and fall in with the wind or against the wind. And the sad thing is, this was the first day we ever used one and there were no birds hear to speak of. I went on a solo pubic land Hunt on a sunny morning and took in 3 magnum decoys and my hojo, and sat in buck brush while a group of about 10 guys had out about 200 floaters were about 400 yards away and they did not shoot a bird! I could have killed a limit in mins. I had the hojo only about 10 yards from me. Instead I band checked for over 2 hours b4 I shot the first one. Those guys could not see me or my hojo! They were getting aggravated that the birds wouldn’t work them! I watched them re-arrange their spread probably 5 times. Finally two guys came down their and asked me if I wanted to get in the blind with them and bring my hojo = home made mojo! I said I was good where I was. True story!

Love your channel bro and loved what you had to say about gun safety SAFETY DOESN'T HURT. My grandfather took a man's life putting his gun away in the truck thinking it was clear and he had been hunting for almost half a century at the time. We can never get complacent in the field. Also thank you for putting the shells and trash on blast. Hunters lets do better with our public lands and this is why its hard to gain private land access.

Thankfully, I had a broken arrow in the back of my truck I stripped the vanes off and whittled some off and checked it in my gun a few times until it was the right size. Took about 5 minutes and saved myself from a fat ticket lol and my shotguns still rockin the ole arrow plug

Regarding a coot shoot, hells yeah! I’ve been hunting waterfowl for over 30 years and I’ve never shot a coot because of the taste horror stories. I read an article recently, written by a waterfowl bio, that discussed coot destruction of duck eggs. I never knew it was a thing. They destroy duck eggs to reduce pressure on and increase food sources for their own young. I haven’t shot any yet, but after reading that science-based article, I am now an official coot shooter!

If it happens you gotta cut me in for like 1 cent per sticker for contributing to the “Funny Sh*t” Department (😂 just kidding) and my other business demand, now that I’m on the team (kidding) is that my lab, Rocket, and your lab, Fred, get to have a meet-n-greet when you come to Colorado for a late season goose hunt. I can hook you up. Not kidding on the last part!

Funny story about the dove mojo. Me and a couple buddies killed 45 ducks in a single day over half a dozen decoys and a dove mojo. A lot of stuff was frozen up and it was a little tuck of flooded corn right next to trees and a creek that feeded into the corn.

While we waiting he had his 12 gauge standing up butt on floor of boat I had palm frons separating us . Bobby, on the subject of safety, what I have not seen from any of the duck hunting video's i have watched so far is a discussion of a field medical kit. Being the owner of a shop in California that specializes in concealed carry and being a firearms competitor it is common in our discipline to discuss out EDC medical kit, our vehicle and location medical kits, and of course the bo bo kit for the normal cuts and abrasions. I have yet to see among all the first of season video's a discussion of such a kit. Do bird hunters not carry a tourniquet, clotting agents, splints, etc? Spot tracker for emergency help when a cell signal isn't present? As for Fred do you carry a medical kit for him, in the event of paw injuries cuts, abrasions, errant pellets since there seems in some video's to be people shooting directly over the dogs? Given he was showing some signs of being cold a vest wouldn't hurt him. Besides the abrasion protection dogs cool through their chest area and keeping him warmer there would be an advantage. Let's be honest on KZbin happy dogs are the star and people will tune in just to see the dog(s) That you tell him how good he is and interact makes you different than the majority of the duck hunting video's I have watched. Love to see Fred.
