I really enjoy watching people go through the process of creating things. Especially when they're confident in their abilities and wing it. One of my favorite videos of yours in a bit. I'd love to see a part two of you doing a little mixing to this track.

Dr Bob is giving us the real stuff that no other channel gives! Two thumbs up Dr Bob, thanks so much for this. I love the honesty of the occasional, "Well, that sounded terrible...!!" If I had a dollar for every time I've said that in producing a song, I would be very, very rich indeed.... Absolutely fantastic. Thanks so much for this. It's true - "Just try it. And if it sounds terrible, replace it with something else...!!"

I really appreciate these types of videos. Being a guitar player I often get option paralysis after the bed tracks are down. I think I need to get more in the habit of “just try stuff”. Thanks 🙏🏻

People complain about backing tracks live. Sound engineer adds instruments that necessitate backing tracks. Some time a guy just can't win.

The growl you didn't know you needed until you did. 😁 Another good one! Thank you! Song feel and sound is great! Kinda has a "The Fixx" vibe.

Great video on production. You never really see videos about this part of the process. You are a PRO for sure. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and maybe do a Part 2 and 3 if you have time.

Great video! You are definitely teasing the idea of where this song can go.The chorus definitely needs to hit big after that verse but it sounds like it’s going into a pre 😅

Upon first listen, I thought the early flubbed note on the pad actually kinda worked. Created some tension before the release.

I was kinda starting to hear a decending arpeggios type line between those pads. Kinda like cascading waterfalls. Might have been busy sounding. But would hae tried it anyways. 😊

Thanks Bobby I wanted to let you know that...Sumpner...changed your message at the top under the views and time. You wrote..."like the songs we...hear...on spotify". Sumpner changed it to "like the songs we...here...on spotify". Sumpner told me that one of his dreams is to someday be an editor at a book publishing company...and that's why he changed it. So you might want to change it back when he's not looking.

Great. Just curious if this is why some bands suck live. Just kidding. Thanks for another great tutorial.

It stikes me listening to this how much I or ''we'' feel about a song's style comes from the guitarist and vocalist. this has a U2 ish feel due to just those two elements. I think if you can write a tune that sounds familiar yet you just cant place it thats the sweet spot as a writer. theres the style of the song and that filters through the style of the players/ band. I have a tune i think has a kind of U2 ish vibe too, although my voice is very diffewrent and my guitar playing is too yet it still has the feel of the band, Am i the only one puzzling over this kind of thing?

It really improves the sound and the vibe of the track - to the point that they may benefit from getting a keyboard player

I'm not all the way through the video yet, and as much as I love what you've done so far, I've got to say I don't like that 4th piano note in the intro. Let the 3rd note hold for 2 bars in anticipation of the drop.

When mixing in a synth do you just use eq or sidechain? I noticed that I have moments that stay out to much and when I compress it doesn't help I'm assuming this Is just automation
