You really should consider continuing this into a series of videos. The way you made the graphics looks fantastic, and I like the graphical style of voxels and how you added an outline. The backgrounds of the levels aren't just pixelated textures but are intricately designed and stylized. The stylized grass adds so much contrast from the voxels but ends up complementing the design. And your approach of editing the enemies behaviors to fit the 3d environment just looks like fun and engaging gameplay.

This is absurdly good. Most of the "remaking a retro 2d game in 3d" videos are too concerned about being absolutely faithful, that they don't truly ADAPT the game. This feels like an adaptation, not to mention how good it looks, which is another thing I don't see a lot of effort put into. Sucks that these videos are so rare but that's the price of quality. Keep cooking man.

Man, thanks for cheering my day up! I'm 48 and grew up with the Super Mario game series, part of my childhood! You could work at Nintendo. I'd love to play this in original SNES hardware (plus some cartridge chip additions)

Unironically you should do the rest of the game like this. You already got a lot of the grunt work done with what you'd expect in the game. And other then underwater shenanigans, ghost houses, some enemies/backgrounds and the bosses/castles, you are all but already mostly there to knock out most of the game. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would play a full 3d version of SMW, with the kind of effort you have put into this already.

I'm blown away by how incredible this looks! Normally, voxel versions of sprites tend to look really awkward, if not outright ugly unless you view them from exactly the right angle. But you perfectly encapsulate the whimsical cartoon style of Super Mario World, and you even had some really clever solutions to seamlessly transition the levels from 2D to 3D! Absolutely insane work, man!

This is by far one of the best pieces of content I have ever seen on KZbin, and one of the best fan reimaginings of anything I've ever seen!!! He is discriminated in game as well. I always play Super Mario World in 2 player mode, give all lives to Luigi, kill Mario and play the whole game as Luigi. But in every situation the game gives Mario the credit: "Mario has defeated Iggy Koopa" for example... even though Mario has been sleeping as an angel the whole time and Luigi has done all the work 💚

I have to say, i usually dislike voxel aesthetics, since they draw so much attention to the edges of each box, rather than the design of the character... but something about your shading in the final product (did you eliminate shadows?), and the black outline looks WONDERFUL. It looks very much like multiple 2D sprites in a 3D world. Amazing work!

This is my first impression of you and I love what you did here!!! The video production is really well made, the models look great as pixel looking 3D, the scattered jokes that probably costed hours of programming just for a few seconds in the video, it is all amazing! The game itself seems really fun to play too, and could pass as something big N would do themselves as an Easter Egg in the next big 3D Mario game. This is great! I love the voxel art so much it's stunning. Just one thing, why put all of the elements in a strait line? I would recommend spreading the elements around the 3rd dimension so it feels like it's more of a 3d version of the game than just SMW with better graphics and more movement. Otherwise amazing work. This is amazing work to the point where if feels a little unreal. The part where you made over 100 models most of them being the same character is strange because you mostly have 1- or 2-character models and then rig them to use animations. You can change textures and clothing on the one character model without making 20 of them.
