I'm studying the Bobcat university modules, but your experience and the helpful hints that you provide are more interesting as they show real life issues. Looks like a solid/stout repair. I would like to request machine hours in all your videos and primary usage (landscape/construction rental / single owner operator / multiple operators) so that we could gauge how long until we should expect to do these repairs on our own machines. I would have been really concerned about getting under a machine like that, I think I would construct a pit with steel I beam reinforcements before I felt brave enough to get under there. You have courage. Those tracks look like used rubber bands, I hope the customer opted to replace them while they were off & change the chain case oil all in one shot. Speaking of tracks, have you run into any non-bobcat brands that last? I had my first pair of tracks from bobcat, they lasted about 950 hours or so. Didn't do much pavement work at all, mostly dirt/gravel/rock terrain. The second are these Arison, It doesn't look like they will last long at all, I have maybe 200 hours on them and they are already looking beat to hell.

I have replaced many sets of tracks on CNH skid steers. Camso CTL SD tracks is pretty much what was supplied by my parts guys and they have better grip and last way longer than most tracks that CNH had on their machine from the factory (until they switched to those camso CTL SD track). Only ever had one customer wear a set of those out and he puts on ~2000 hrs a year using the machine at his feed lot.

I have a track frame to repair on my 12 year old T320, so this video had perfect timing for me. My frame is not cracked in the same way but the repair that I had planned is very similar to what you did so I should be okay with my repair. Thank you for all your great videos they have helped immensely with going through my old bobcat.

Hi Brady It's a pleasure to watch your videos and learn from them, thank you very much for taking the time for people like us who are looking to learn something new. I know this is not a video that is adequate for the question I want to ask you, but I can't find one that addresses my problem. I have a Bobcat T595 that is always giving me the E000636-08 crankshaft sensor code and I replaced it with a new one but when I accelerate to more than 1500 rpm it starts to shake and has no power. I returned the old sensor and it works better but the problem is to turn it on cold and when it sends the code after it is already working on it. Well my question is what can I do to solve this problem? I know that it is best to take it to the bobcat dealer for it is already the second time and as you know it is not cheap and I would have to wait a month for it to be ready since the workshop is very late and the waiting time is very long. Well I hope you can help me. And once again thank you very much for your videos that have really helped me a lot to repair my machine without the need to take it to the workshop

That's a tough code to diagnose. I've never personally seen a bad crank sensor, the problem is usually in the harness and I've read a bad ECU could also cause the issue. I've never had to to replace an ECU for the crank sensor code so if it were me I'd be looking for a harness issue.

Looks like a sturdy repair. Does this happen a lot? You should give annular cutters a try. Annular cutters last longer than hole saws. With your mag drill probably give you a "machine shop" finnish.

Im surprised that a machine that new looking has bolt loosening or structural cracks. Anyways you did a great repair and impressed with your extra effort you take make your own plates and ensure the job is done right! One tip for future though is to not tack the corners or ends of your weld seams. Tack areas are prone to recrack(cold metal and first heat input area can cause poor fusion) and when its at the end of the seam or a corner it will see the most stress.

😮 built in air compressor on the plasma cutter!! Nice that’s a game changer. Nice welds that was an great repair topped off with an extra 1/4” to beef it up. I’m sure that’ll never happen again. How much plasma did you use in your plasma cutter? How many cuts can you get before you have to buy more plasma?

Only used a 1/4 pound of plasma. I can get about 30 minutes of cutting time before having to replace the plasma. I have a contact at the blood bank so we get plasma fairly cheap.

I’m work on t190 with kubota v2403 and setting the timing gears and every manual I can find does not mention the stroke for cylinder 1 just tdc and set timing marks. I know there is a compression and bypass stroke or does it not matter?

Looks like a very clean well kept low hour machine other than the drag slicks, unless those were turf tracks? How many hours in the unit?

About 4000 hours, used mostly on asphalt so yes those are turf track which work well on asphalt to not damage it. That set of tracks will probably last another 400 -500 hours.

Really nice work. 👌 Quick question what precautions do you take before welding on a machine? Disconnect battery, unplug modules ecm, etc? I have seen things go south, and also seen no problems, curious your take.

Excellent question, thanks for asking. In my 25 years working on heavy equipment I have not personally had any issues with controllers or modules from welding. I was taught to keep the ground as close to the weld point as possible. With that information I have never disconnected a battery or unplugged a controller (knock on wood). Issues happen when a guy grounds to rear door and then welds on the front bucket for instance.

@HowIDidIt I follow a similar approach keeping the ground close to work. I have only seen a problem twice, once on a gm truck and once on a john deere skid loader. If it's my equipment I usually disconnect the battery out of an abundance of caution. But your approach doesn't sound unreasonable. I do find it interesting all the manufacturers warn against it in their manuals just to avoid a warranty claim!

Any idea on why my 763 lift valve would be frozen when it’s well below freezing? My oil is clear no milky sludge. I put a heat gun on for 5 mins frees up and is fine

I had a question on biodiesels being used in bobcats is this a nono?? Had a t590 with real cloudy diesel kinda smelled like vinegar?? and a clogged fuel filter customer said they had filled with biodiesel and not diesel no.2

Bio is a huge nono for any common rail. I know people will claim otherwise but not worth risking an $7k fuel system. I caution red dye due to the storage vessels. I've seen way to many failed fuel systems due to contaminated red dye diesel. 😕
