The incidental music of Season 1 was very haunting and had an ethereal aspect of being lonesome and lost. It was spooky. The episodes Goodnight Sweet Skipper and Wrongway Fieldman had a lot of it. The scene where Gilligan is in the lagoon watching Skipper sleepwalk back into the hut is probably the most lonesome of all.

I worked for Sherwood Schwartz a number of years ago and, among other things, pitched an idea to do something with this music, written mostly as you know by the great Gerald Fried (a wonderful guy). There's a lot of red tape that makes anything with Gilligan an uphill battle but I think Mr. Fried is the unsung hero of the show. Bless you for putting this together.

Absolutely fantastic! Classic timeless music (thank you John Williams & Gerald Fried). When you watch the 4th of July beach scenes in the original JAWS you can hear a bit of a nautical "Gilligan's Island" vibe. My favorite cues are from; 0:00-1:14, 3:02-3:19, 5:00-5:30, 5:32-5:52, 5:53-6:17, 6:37-6:53, 7:11-7:25 and 9:52-10:05. My absolute favorite is cue 6:37-6:53. Thank you for posting (and thank you Ridgie Style for compiling these great cues).

That signature tune at 9:16 used to get me emotionally. It was used in the last act of most Season 1 episodes and had a sad, mournful quality. They're still on the island after what happened today. IMHO, the music at 5:09 was the scariest in the series.

Although the music of Gilligan's Island is brilliant, fun, exciting, funny and fondly remembered, there were some "ominous" cues I remember even to this day ( 50 years later !!) that always gives me the creeps, such as in the episode "Meet the Meteor" the professor, Gilligan and the skipper are starting to walk back to the huts in their silvery, lead lined "radiation" suits, after putting up the lead lined cosmic ray screening, the professor comments "there is something funny/strange going on back there" and says " come on !" then that ominous bass violins, horns and some woodwinds depict a telltale sign of doom and gloom. I guess you had to be there lol !

Alright! 6:43 - 6:55 is my most favorite music segment from the show also! From a musical standpoint, this 12 seconds of music is my emotional bond to the show, keeping the flames of nostalgia alive. Have an urge to carefully watch all of the episodes of S2 & S3 to count how many times this particular music score was used on the show, while documenting which episode & scene for each instance. Sitting here, can recall 3 instances: When Mr. Howell was standing outside one of the huts with the Skipper's binoculars in "Gilligan Goes Gung-Ho". When Gilligan sat down on his punching bag contraption lever to tie his shoe & knocked himself into a radio again in "Hi-Fi Gilligan". And when Gilligan said "It's a blue moon, Skipper, it's a blue moon" in "Ship Ahoax".
