It's hard to believe this show almost didn't make it as the TV executives said it wouldn't take. Aren't these actors just great & to think 30 years later there would be movies made & cast reunions with them until most of them would leave us. The scripts were great too no matter how absurd they seemed & they couldn't get off the island. I congratulate the late Sherwood Schwartz for giving this show to us & for contriving it with its silly but fun concept of the show it became. Most of the guest stars were great too but how they got off the island & the castaways couldn't is beyond me. Guess it would have been too easy & the show wouldn've lasted 3 seasons.

My favorite is Gilligan thinking he found a black gag plastic spider. S1E10 - Waiting for Watubi Gilligan removes a spider from the sea chest and carefully places it on the back of his hand. GILLIGAN.........."Skipper, what does this remind you of?" SKIPPER............"Nothing. It must have just crawled in there". Startled, Gilligan pulls his hand away, flinging the spider away.
