Hi Bob and Jenny. I just wanted to let you know what a fabulous 2 weeks we had touring the Highlands. We enjoyed our stay in Moffat before heading north to Clen Coe, Fort William, Skye, Loch Ness Shores, Nairn, Forfar and Portobello, before heading back south taking in Ambleside and Windermere. No hiccups and a lovely holiday. Also it was nice to meet Aileen at the Stoneleigh show on the day we left the Midlands. Thanks for your advice on 'Smidge' but luckily only had to use it twice, not as many midges as we expected. Best Wishes Dave and Sophie xx P.S. For your interest, we traveled 1,352 miles and the cost of fuel was £285 which we didn't think bad at all.

Hi Bob, i phoned Todd’s a few weeks back after watching your videos, local ish to us, wanted to see if we could go look round, they said then , literally 5 vans left, we are life long caravaners and thinking about maybe a motor home in a few years when our teenagers are older, I’m hoping then the market will be flooded with choice , after all the people doing staycation , go back abroad again , thanks for the informative vlogs, 👍🏻

The bubble will burst and there will be a glut of motorhomes and campers for sale at some point in time.
@BrasherFox3 жыл бұрын
Paid a visit to Todds last year when considering changing from our campervan to a motorhome, they only offered a poor part ex value, less than half of the price they where selling compatible campers for. Now thats making a profit. Still got the camper.

Hi Bob & Jenny, gas is a huge issue. We just picked up our Estoril that you checked out for me at the NEC. I wasn't told until the day B4 I was picking it up it was set up for Propane, I use Butane. There was nowhere that would swop the cylinders even though Calor says they should. Empty ones are going for £70-80 and pick up only! The dealer refused to help!
@BobEarnshawMoHo3 жыл бұрын
Did you change the regulator?
@swdman12343 жыл бұрын
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I ended up buying a quick release Butane regulator as the dealer wasn't interested in just swapping it over. I took it to a little CL for the weekend and the lovely lady owner agreed to swop the Butane for Propane. I now have a brand new unused quick release Butane pigtail. Since picking the van up I have had to buy a bigger Honda generator converted to run on LPG as well as petrol because we spend a lot of the time off grid at dog shows and we specc.d the van with AC. for the girls (dogs to other people)!

Hello Bob and Jenny great video as usual and many thanks for sharing. We popped into Todds three weeks ago but to see it now is amazing, its so empty and although it may well make it difficult to get a pitch its great news in many ways for our home tourist industry. This time next year, if we get back to normality, it may well swing the other way and a glut will suddenly appear with second hand prices plummeting. Wasn't impressed with that Marquis site, we also wandered round it for at least forty mins and not one sales person approached us, all to happy just to look out the office window so we left. Obviously made their money for the year. Stay safe and again many thanks.

12:58 that head unit is an Autotrail mass fitted device, an unbranded ELE2000 not a Pioneer, and anyone who has one will most likely curse it. Owners sometimes remove them and fit another brand. The ELE2000 is no longer used, it has an old analogue TV receiver, a poor Sat Nav and a terrible reversing camera image.

Hi Bob Can I ask why blown air would put you off? I know it's perhaps a personal thing but we much prefer it (on our Adria Matrix) to having the Alde wet system. Anyway great to see you doing a few reviews again albeit it at dealers far away from sunny Dorset.
@BobEarnshawMoHo3 жыл бұрын
I've felt it dries the air out too much for my liking. The outlets of the blown air pipes can end up blowing cold air out and you end up with areas that are either too cold or too hot, if the system isn't properly balanced. The pipes take up a lot of room in the cupboards. On the plus side, you can use them to blow cool air in the summer and it heats up quickly in the winter, compared to Alde.

Spooky seeing so many empty spaces at the dealers. Just hope the cash flow is okay when they have little or no vans to sell. Fingers crossed they ride the storm, I bet it'll be Easter before it looks anything like normal again for new vans.

Interesting video, if we ever get back to normal will the jet set abandon staycations? Probably, Our first caravan in 1980 and gave up in 2015 with a few years break. In that time caravans and moho's became very popular, even tents. After the time of high demand came a slump with lots of leisure vehicles for sale. I believe this will happen again within the next 18 months. With site fees in high season being £30.00 per night plus. Roaming Radfords paid 90 Euros for one night if memory serves me right. Then there are the monthly payments plus all the add ons. Then there is Scotland joining the ****** so that would be part of your 90 day allowance, but that is another chapter. Stay safe and take care

@@BobEarnshawMoHo thanks for your reply. I was thinking there was issues with reliability. We have blown, heats and cools well but because of the locale of the boiler it i always warmer in the bedroom. Our pipes are not visible, all under floor, which is a plus. I guess there are pros and cons with all systems, as with anything!

We have blown air in our very old caravan. Unfortunately the thermostat is in the cupboard above the heater, so it switches off when the van is still cold! We just plug in a cheap fan heater and it’s brilliant, also works well in the awning.
@twoeyedbob3 жыл бұрын
Thermostat is pretty vague and it’s positioning is critical , Truma system can be very frustrating to restart if you run out of gas Tbh though with the ability to heat the van from cold in minutes I’d still take it all day long over the alde
