I appreciate seeing a drumline have fun like this! But folks: if you are looking for really good high school drumlines that are clean and play more challenging music, they are out there. This drumline is okay, but certainly not the best.
@bwfitz9 жыл бұрын
Richard Spalding Mr. Spalding, I see these comments that come in criticizing this little video and typically just take it with a grain of salt. This is a high school band playing a fun stand tune (two years ago at that). But to my knowledge as the person who videoed, edited, and posted this, no one has claimed that they are the best. I appreciate the comment about the group having fun...that is what this is about....not a competition, not meant to be perfect, just some fun. I encourage you to post perhaps videos of you or your band playing "clean" and more challenging pieces...believe me, the critics are ready for you...have fun.
@drunkenribeye9 жыл бұрын
Bob Fitzgerald Sadly, I realized I was a little late to the party after I commented - my bad! But my comment about the quality of the drumline was directed toward people making comments about how good this line is. Like I said, it's cool to see a band having this much fun in the stands. However, if there are drummers who are blown away by this to the point where they are singing this line's praises - as a drummer, I simply felt compelled to steer those drummers toward drumlines who play more difficult music cleanly.

@OdaKa5 жыл бұрын
You're not supposed to all play on the head differently. And it's kinda bad to perform outside your skill level. The snares need to slow it down and go back to basics with a metronome. 4 quarter notes played well are way better than 16 16th notes played like garbage. It sounds like they learned the groove but don't actually practice.

@bruceharrington199510 жыл бұрын
***** this is incorrect. Some schools have a progressions where you start on bass, and can work up to tenors and then snare, but that's not the case everywhere. I marched on this line from 2009-2012, as a snare for 3 years. Our section leader started on snare. The more technical instruments are obviously harder to land a spot on, especially as a freshman, but try out for what you want to play. I didn't want to march my freshman year and was in the front ensemble. Decided snare was cool, made snare sophomore year. Etc.

@@briantan6927 dude if anything, bass is the hardest to play. I don't play bass, but I just so happen to be a freshman tenor (the only tenor on our line[six person line]) and I think to play bass you need to be the most in sync with each other and have the best ears.
