Thanks Bob for making this video. I've watched all of your chuck glider conversons and must say you have great ideas and craftsman ship. You have inspired me with my chuck glider builds. Keep up the good work and fresh ideas my friend.

Thanks mate, I tried really hard to get the info across to make it helpful for anyone thinking of getting into this rather addictive pursuit! 😉. I doubt I'd use the word craftsmanship, but they are improving!

Thanks for your great video's, I enjoy DIY RC plane builds. I noticed in several of your flight tests, that when you throttle up the plane appears to pitch up and climb. One suggestion you might want to consider a Throttle-Elevator Mix. What this does is apply down elevator as a percentage of the throttle position to counter act the pitch up. Could be in the video's I observed, wind may be a contributing factor? I was in my local Hobby-Lobby craft store here in the U.S. and saw a small version of the Lidi, but I was not aware they had a larger version. I will see if I can find a source here in the U.W.

You are right about the pitching up, I've always put it down to thrust angle, but very good idea to try a throttle mix. Thanks! I think I can do it with my Flysky tx. Easier than messing about trying to change thrust angle! Well done Bob 2. 😉

Great info and tips, how about a wing for the next build something like a nurflidl, chop the tail fins off leaving a short bit of fuselage and then put a 'rudder fin' back on for stability add elevons using 2 servos in the wing (you will have to mix the channels on the transmitter) and you have a glider then maybe add a motor at the front or rear to make it powered

Wow, that sounds like a nice idea.

Really enjoyed watching your videos Bob and as a result I have managed to acquire the red and black 86cm Lidl glider. I already have a redundant EFlight EFLM7010 motor and esc with a 3S 750mA lipo but what servo's would you recommend for the elevator and ailerons ? As per your advice I have decided to leave the dihedral in so it is still reasonably tame.
@bobflyman27 күн бұрын
Great. They are really good for experimenting with. I'd say build it light, no carbon and 3.7g servos would be OK.

Seems like you recommend gluing the wing? I just installed my aileron servos and hardware, then went to insert into plane to test overall weight and realised I can't get the wing inside due to hardware catching. Doh! So I guess, remove servos, insert wing, install servos, and permanently glue wing?
@bobflymanАй бұрын
Oh dear, yes, it won't slide through with the servos installed as you've found. I said at 06:12 that I used to slide the wing though as one piece, but the last couple of builds I cut a slice out and hot glue. Just as strong in my experience, and makes is easier to hide the wiring from the aileron servos. Don't hack it up taking out the servos, just cut and glue the wing would be my advice! This is the cutting part in that no.14 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHe9goxpjc1phtEsi=LWImjBrpaRcnMFfs&t=65
