I have literally no idea of RC Cars, Trucks, Trains, and so on... Still I just watched a guy build a 10x10 truck for 80 minutes. I regret nothing. I wish you the most fun possible with your truck and I hope for no more problems. It looks great man :D

Honestly, I think every RC modeler should try a massive, painstaking build once in their lives. I bought a Tamiya 1/16 tank kit and let it sit in my closet for 6 years before I got around to building it (I knew it was going to be a massive project). It took me a a few months to complete it, working a few hours at a time in evenings. The masking, painting and weathering took the longest. It turned out fantastic. When people see it they think it is a static model. The smiles it gets when you fire it up are priceless.

Howdy! Hello from America. My name is Chris and it was an absolute pleasure to go on this build journey with you! I built and repaired ATM machines for about 5 years and worked with a lot of the same tools. A lot of the same parts and components are used also from small brush motors, leads, circuits, wiring harnesses, led's, cosmetic plastic and metal panels and parts. Just about every screw was machined and some so small you needed magnetic bits and glasses to run them. The card readers from the cash dispensers had to be built and put together then inspected before installed. But i would like to mention that however i do understand your want to not damage or strip a screw and hand driving every screw. We had that same issue! Every new hire we put in the back breaking down the old used or damaged ATM machines bought for parts, they were stripping just about everything we gave them. Yes we used drills but the drills we used were made for this exact situation! Our drills were small handheld drills that were torqued with an adjustable clutch. Just by turning the numbered dial on the front of the drill you can adjust your drill to torque down to a certain poundage onto whatever your trying to drive. So say you had the dial set to 3 on your drill... you're running that screw with 3 lbs of torque and when the drill reaches that set poundage the clutch activates and will allow it to "slip". Making a clicking or grinding noise and will not drive the screw any further. That "clicking" noise is your cue to stop! It amazed me at how many people had no idea how to operate a torque drill or what a torque drill even was or what the numbers on that front dial even means. Ive probably explained it over a thousand times Lol! Just in case you didnt know... i hope this helps you. You can find a torque drill along with any size bit to fit any screw or nut at your local hardware store. Its not a specialty tool and not too expensive. It was a lifesaver when i had to run screws into the cosmetic plastics to mount them! As you know the screw holes are molded into the plastic! I would set my drill to 2 or 3 at the most and never stripped or broke the plastic screw holes, ever! If i would have had to hand run all those screws i would have never got those orders out on time!

Sounds like the pin in the gear box is working correctly as it is sheering before other components fail. You might want to down size the motors under the 1600 that was recommended by the manufacture if you can. Increasing the pin size will likely cause other components to fail. Nice build and video btw

I think that building larger and heavier RC vehicles eventually has a point of diminishing returns. You can make them huge but they'll always be a weak point. To build one proper durable then it'd be so heavy and or expensive that nobody could or would buy it. This and the Raminator seem to be slightly beyond that point. I really like both vehicles but I'm glad I'm watching other folks own them. Thanks for doing this so we don't have to, lol.

Snow piercer comes to mind. For the cabin, maybe you can use some neodymium magnets and in an emergency or maintenace pull it off, the front rake would look good pointing forwards 90° to the cabin, and may i recommend some kind of gaskets on the electrical panels and heatshrink the connectors if youre planning on drowning it in mud. Great video, also, i would release a bit the clutch to stop that pin snaping. Maybe there is too much torque set on it 👍

You have to mask off the glue lines. At least that’s what I had to do when I put together a Tamiya tank. As you pointed out, glue won’t work if there is paint present. This is why many people suggest glueing everything together first and then use an airbrush to paint the model. If you don’t have an airbrush though, I thinking masking off the glue lines, painting and then gluing is the only alternative.

Some kind of plow at the front would still be nice. I got a 5kg Defender D90 and also had a problem with torque, I ripped off a pin of a cardan. Was a 3WD afterwards. The all wheel steering is good for driving, but somehow it doesn't fit having the back wheels turning full way. Maybe you could set the back servo to only move 50% of the front one.

I thought it was thr manufacturers fault but they were all due to his "upgrades" going off spec. The pin is rated to snap at a certain value kind of like an electrical fuse, the motors he installed were above design spec. The fires were his fault too. The only bad design in my opinion was the low clearance for such a long chassis. It needs a nice lift kit 😂 and the cheap plastic tabs or glue anchor spots for the body

The vehicle that the RC is based on is actually a land train that exists in Alaska (no joke back during the Cold War era there were literal overland trains due to how dangerous transporting items through the Arctic is VIA rail. for reference think ice truckers but in the 1950s) gigantic trucks powered by electrical diesel engines we are working it into a mobile artillery piece is actually really innovative
