Kami was the one-in-a-million child prodigy who was born to be a successful child actor. The casting team had to be absolutely thrilled. Thank goodness she loved the work and didn't complain, or her wonderful mother would have done the right thing and ended it. That would have been tragic to us. Thank you Kami for being you! We loved you then as Elizabeth and we love you today as Kami.

As the youngest of six kids, I identified with Kami's character the most. The show really captured the roles of the different aged kids in the family very well. I can sit down and watch them today and it instantly takes me back to my youth.

Kami was an amazing actress on The Waltons. I still remember her on The Easter Episode when Olivia had polio and Kami was “Eleanor the elocutionist” when she said “Mary had a little lamb his fleece was black as soot and everywhere that Mary went his sooty foot he put”

I am on Kamis fb page. She is still so sweet and endearing . Nice to see that childhood acting didnt mess her up ...she was a wonderful actor. Still adore the Waltons and watch it many times over and over. We watched as I was growing up with my entire family. I had 5 siblings and I was oldest girl.. I remember when you were little acting, you isolated yourself cause something died and you were upset about it. so you learned to surround yourself with loved ones and was happier. that stuck in my mind. I love the Waltons. Nancy Brown

I love the story about the soup. I remember the look on Kami's face when Mama answers the question of why did she marry Daddy? LOVE....also, not knowing the celebrity status of the guest stars made it more authentic.

Totally agree about the pre-puberty just ‘going w the flow’. I think Melissa Gilbert had the same experience. She was such a natural as a child. Then as she grew older, things changed.

Hi Kami: Watched the Waltons when they were current, have all of the discs and watch them whenever I need a "fix". They made your character an individual who had aa natural need to learn and know about things. That seems to be a "real" character trait for the "real" person. Did the writers pick up that trait from the little actress or was it actually written in and simply a "coincidence" that it certainly appears to be "Kami" as well as "Elizabeth" !! Just watched your second interview with your Mom. Thank you for doing these !!!

How popular was "The Waltons" in Scotland/Wales/UK? I assume it was to some degree for Ross to be interviewing all the actors. Was it popular when it originally aired, or in later years after original airing in the USA?

I was in my early twenties when the Waltons came out and absolutely loved it. I even name my second son Aaron ( I was hoping for a girl ) after the character Erin Walton. I loved her character on there.
