This idea includes more work but the hole spacing will be perfect. Instead of the piece of tape you can use two screws then attach them to a drill, grind one end into a point and screw them into the handle. You can then mark the holes on the template with the handle. Great video! This is one well made video. It's on par with the 300,000 + subs channels out there.

Thank you! I work hard on the videos, and I have been getting better at editing. That is an interesting method, and would be very accurate. Works kind of like a dowel centering point.

@@BobsWoodStuff You are very welcome. Yep that's right. Would be nice if threaded centerpoint dowels were available on the market. It would make things like this very easy.

@@unogazzy84 2 years late but nice idea’ they do make metal double screw tip side like for furniture dowel replacement that would be perfect’ Or heck even your thought just take a scrap 1x2 Put inch and a quarter screw through it so the screw points poke out other side’ Then you could just hold block up to door and tap back with hammer that would make little divots the. Drill’ Hope this helps someone in the future reading lol’

Can you make a video on making a jig for cup pulls to install on a shaker drawers in kitchen?
@BobsWoodStuff2 жыл бұрын
Possibly. I do have a Shaker table that could use a pull.

Couldn't you put another set of spacers on the back side of the first template and to use for the other door, instead of two templates? Just make sure to label which side does which door.
@BobsWoodStuff4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that would also work. I realized that after making both templates, lol.
@Straight0uttaCrofton Жыл бұрын
pretty sure you could figure it out without labeling them also
@labrat73572 жыл бұрын
Why not make just one symmetrical jig with a bottom and central stop?, That way you have a right and left hand version on the one jig.
@BobsWoodStuff2 жыл бұрын
That would work too.

Why make two templates? Why not a reversible one?
@BobsWoodStuff Жыл бұрын
A reversible template is an option. I couldn't think of an easy way to perfectly align the guide fence on both sides, so I just made 2 templates.

And what if you don’t have these tools. ???
@BobsWoodStuff3 жыл бұрын
You should be able to do this project with just a handheld drill. Instead of using the tablesaw to make wood strips, you can purchase strips of wood or use the wooden stir sticks from the hardware store.

Someone make a $6 plastic jig that will eliminate the need to build one.
@BobsWoodStuff3 жыл бұрын
Those exist, but they cost more than $6.

I can't wait 30 minutes for wood glue to set up.....hot glue.
@BobsWoodStuff9 ай бұрын
Hot glue is good for a fast jig, but it could pop off eventually. Wood glue is more permanent.
