Yes, I said the wrong quest title when we filmed the intro 😅 Let me know what you think of this story-book format!

Thanks, didn’t notice until days after we recorded, and I didn’t want to make Grace and Stephen film again lol

I think I would go with a mix of live game play and the story-book format just to mix up the visuals. Still good stuff.
@BobWorldBuilder5 жыл бұрын
Late reply! For now I have trouble with live play visuals because I have limited lighting capabilities... but I may be able to do more soon because I'm getting new equipment thanks to all the people supporting this channel! :)

Grace wins zinger of the week with the “Big Cheese” impromptu. --It was hilarious, thanks for the laugh.

I started an Icespire Peak campaign 6 months ago, and we're only up to the Mountain's Toe quest. It has been an absolute blast. I have two players each with a sidekick. They engage with all the NPCs and have involved themselves in the story world. As a new DM, I'm thoroughly enjoying running this module. I only ran the module because of this KZbin series, so thank you! I'm having the time of my life :D

Very late addition but I want to add that I would give Don-Jon two silver daggers. It is of course a bit "cheesy" but you know just let him tell a short story how he got those. Combined with changes of the wererats having resistance (instead of immunity) to normal weapons and that silver gives double damage to them he is more dangerous to the wererats (1d4x3x2 dmg = 12 dmg on average). You can also increase his AC (to e.g. 12-14) because he is so experienced and 'fearless'.

Illustrations in this adventure were particularly engaging. Loved the exterior of the mine. I’m enjoying the series, Bob. What about Tower of Storms next?
@BobWorldBuilder5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I like making these sketches. Probably one day I’ll get an iPad or a proper digital sketch pad to make it easier. Tower of Storms and the other “quest locations” will be after the last two “follow up quests” dragon barrow and woodland manse :)

You help me so much with my prep for my games. Thank you. It also really reiterates how much my players F around cause it takes them about 18x longer to do anything at all than what your guys do LOL

I like the series ive never been a player in D&D but I have been dming for about a month and more or less wanted to know if i was doing it right how much time does it take to prep everything for your games ?
@BobWorldBuilder3 жыл бұрын
I typically spend between 0.5-1 hours. Used to be much much more time, but you gradually get used to just preparing what you absolutely need and winging the rest :)
@onlyeatapples31663 жыл бұрын
@@BobWorldBuilder nice I'm planning to run this encounter tomorrow half my group can speak to animals so I'm having to prepare more of "what would a field mouse know" than anything else lol

love the series, have some questions as a new D&D/DM: 1) 9:05, it sounded like you rolled multiple d20 for Don Jon's sling (range) attack as a multiattack, but his stat block says his multiattack consist of 3 meele attacks, shouldn't he have used his dagger? 2) 9:25 when the carrion crawler used an action to shove/prone J.U.G, and then used a 2nd action for attack (bite), would this be incorrect? monsters have 1 action per round and multi-attack counts as 1 action where they have to use the attacks listed (tentacles + bite) two miners sacrificing themselves "NOOOOO" "whatever"
@BobWorldBuilder4 жыл бұрын
I think I did misinterpret the multiattacks here. I assumed I could use it for DJ's sling, and for a shove/bite instead of tentacle/bite, but typically, yes, you should stick to the statblock.

Did you say you would make your simplified map available?
@chrisbianculli34654 жыл бұрын
You did say that in the DM guide video. I'm watching the whole playlist and looked for the link on the wrong video. Thank you for the content. I'm running this as a first time DM and your videos have been super helpful.

Is there a reason why the Wererat Queen, Zeleen Varnaster, didn’t proposition the PCs to clear out the Shrine of Savras? In the book it presents that as an option for the PCs in exchange for the Wererats leaving the Mine and reclaiming the Shrine. Albeit being a ruse.
@BobWorldBuilder4 жыл бұрын
My thought is that they may have given up on looking for the shrine's hidden treasure, and (off the top of my head) I think the mine is closer to Phandalin than the shrine is, which would be better for their shady business. Of course, if they are still hoping to find that lost treasure (which is completely up to the DM), then it makes sense that they would get the party's help clearing the shrine
