"Kessoku bando" means "Zip Tie" in Japanese. "Kessoku" means "unity" in Japanese. And their band name is "Kessoku band". Like tying everyone together to form a united group. Band is pronounced "bando" in Japanese, so the first thing Hotori thought of when she heard the name was "Zip tie" instead of "Unity Band."

@@TheGenreVerse Also, when Ryo replied with "It's brilliant" is a pun because "It's brilliant (or masterpiece)" is Kessaku in Japanese, which sounds like Kessoku.

It’s like naming your musical band something like “rubber band “ 😅

22:27 - Her name is Hitori, hitori bocchi means 'all alone' - Kessoku Band is just using the 'band' as a double entendre; Band as in a rock band and band as in a wrist band. Kessoku means unity, but kessoku band means zip tie. So they could be 'Unity Band' as a name, but it just sounds like their name is 'zip tie' instead. Idk if my explanation made sense, but there you go!

This show was unexpectedly good when it first aired and got really popular quickly. This show was also the directors directorial debut for a whole show instead of just episode directing. I can def say that he did absolutely great on this and the crazy thing is that he also had his second directorial role for a show last year which was frieren. The dude had gone 2/2 in directing shows. Ive given both Bocchi and frieren a 10/10

I didn't know you would relate this much with the anime, specially Christine, although she always gives the introvert type of vibe, I never pictured her as being shy. I love this anime because all of Bocchi's reactions are out loud, for comedy sake, and in real life you can't just say what you are thinking while having social anxiety, so I always find it funny. 23:45 a lot of times I also ran out of battery in this type of "gatherings" and a lot of times I have lost myself in the city for randomly disappearing from the "group" that I am with. Anyway, I am glad you are reacting to this, one of my favorite animes for sure

19:10 Did not expect that Nomura/Kingdom Hearts mention LOL but I love the comparison and the fact that I'm not the only one whose brain jumps to that thought. Now that you said it I noticed the Keyblade in the back and FF stuff on the channel, I'm liking the vibes :)

YAY! I was there... at lunch in high school, with my copy of PSM (PlayStation Magazine) that had the first blurb about KH I had seen. My friends and I, including Brian, were floored at the very idea. We laughed at it! Then, when it released, I rented it... and after my rental period, I bought it... same day. Glad you are enjoying the content!

Just like people mentioned in the comments Starry is based in a real clubhouse in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, Japan. In fact almost all place shown in the show is based on real places. Talked about real stuff, the instruments? Yeah they are based in actual instruments.

Sometimes life does hand you things that you desire for a long time. For Bocchi, it was looking for a band and outta nowhere Nijika came and asked. Similar thing happened to me but not exactly for music/band, but rather for sports. I wanted to play Volleyball for a long time, introvert me won't let me go to some random gym and ask to random people to play. However, a fateful day, at work, a co-worker that I'd just met just blurted out, "who wants to play Volleyball", during lunch... I immediately said yes! Now I'm regularly playing, doing the thing I love doing. So yes, you can say that part of Nijika approaching her is realistic.
