I'd recommend checking out some of the behind the scenes stuff they did for Bocchi, the VA for Bocchi is quite similar personality wise and did a lot of stuff like a Bocchi radio show and she even did a special where she learnt how to play guitar and the opening to the anime, was a really fun and interesting watch

It’s actually one of those word’s that’s pretty flexible given the context, It does mean daughter but it can just be used as a euphemism for ‘girl’ or ‘maiden’ in specific contexts, so yeah ‘senpai’s girl’ makes loads more sense as a translation given the context of her talking about her crush than ‘senpai’s daughter’
