I did a journey in 2022, flew London to Trondheim, and then hired a car and drove to Bodø in my bid to cross the Arctic Circle. The road quality is amazing, and the views outstanding on the drive up. Northern Norway is truly stunning, and its people so warm and friendly and the food was superb. I miss it a lot. If you are thinking of going to this area, you must - having been to the Norway Fjords a few years back, I realised now that Northern Norway is even more Norway! Roof top bar of our hotel was amazing!

Our son travelled from JFK in NYC via Icelandic Air. Icelandic has a nice option for a couple day layover to promote tourism in Iceland. Our son spent a few days in Iceland then resumed his Icelandic flight to Trondheim Norway. Easy train connection in Trondheim to Bodo. Long, but scenic trip ( get window seat facing sea) Once in Bodo, nearby Loften Islands are a worthy trip too. He also spent time in Svaalbard. Bodo has an excellent airport as well ( serves as a NATO air base as well.) Best wishes,

Wow, good spot! There was actually a serious building fire as we were pulling away from Bodø on the Hurtigruten that day.

Strongly recommending against this. Back when we lived there we faced lots of anti-asian racism. I'll recommend Trondheim, Stavanger, Bergen, or Oslo

Norwegian towns are quiet relative to world cities generally, but I am also careful about filming. I choose to film at quiet times of day and don’t show people wherever possible to protect their privacy.
