I adoreAlan, one of the cleverest and driest witted men alive. I could compare him to Oscar Wilde in a completely different way, but as clever in our time and not recognised enough for his great talent. He is so gentle and unassuming he makes every woman I’m sure want to be his mother. I hope he is happy. It is hard to tell. ❤

Lovely to hear these two gents reminiscing. Excellent piece by Alan Bennett at the end. Thanks for uploading.

Very interesting and entertaining. A strange coincidence that I should have just been reading the sermon this afternoon in Keeping on Keeping on . Thank you

Nobody does contempt quite like our Alan.

Why couldn't the Opposition Party of the day put forward those arguments against the 'selling off' of 'National Treasures'. The main one of course is the National Health Service. That is a classic example of there being more chiefs than Indians. Where one has the ludicrous situation of an Administrator being in charge of a Medical Professional.

I am "Alan Bennett" for being more like him that the other guy. It really pains me to see how ordinary (yes we are all ordinary|) humans have been sent to the opposite ends.

Couldn't come from more different backgrounds. One from independent education and one from v working class background. Feel due to the re-emergence of elitism in education that will never happen again. The Toffs always win in the end.
