Had to stop the video to let out a few tears......when your husband was talking about giving you time to yourself....my now ex husband never understood that....I worked full time just like him and he accepted an offer to go away to work for a few months (we did not need the money, he could have let some one else go) and left me to take care of our new baby son by myself....our marriage was never the same afterwards....I wanted no more kids and we got divorced a few years after....my son is now 19....Thanks for being such a good example Ryan....when you know better you do better.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Working full time and raising a newborn alone sounds extremely stressful. I can understand how this can strain a relationship -- it strained ours after we had our son (I was in graduate school when our son was born). I hope fathers everywhere will hear Ryan's words and learn from his mistakes.

I have 4 kiddos (3 girls and my youngest is a boy). They are 4.5yrs between #1 & #2; then 1yr 4mo between 2 & 3; and 1yr 3days apart. Getting out was difficult, but your husband seems to be more supportive. It really was not to difficult going to #4, and has been such a blessing 🥰

Kelly Lopez Definitely important for him to have alone time too. While I like to go to homesense for alone time, he works out in our basement gym. He also has alone time while the kids are at school and when they go to bed. Glad that you are thinking of his mental health too though.

Don’t give up on your dream to get into med school! If it’s your dream, keep pushing twds it. I’m pushing super hard to get into dental school now. I took the dental exam the first time and didn’t do well so didn’t get into any schools but now I’m currently studying again to retake it to apply this cycle. Don’t give up! You’re a non traditional applicant, med schools love that! They’re plenty of med students who have kids and a husband! You can do it 👌👌

R James No parental leave at all?!?! That’s crazy. I wonder if it’s different by state or is that the US in general? Or does it depend on where you work? Why would you make insurance payments while on leave? Wow...

Nevada is a “right to work state” what that means I don’t really know, but they use it a lot to justify every company having their own set of rules. When you are on leave you still have to pay your premiums so your coverage doesn’t lapse. There is family leave that parents can take, but they are unpaid. Laws can differ from state to state and every company has their own perks when it comes to coverage.
