Body camera video shows arrest of Everett woman accused of murdering her 4-year-old son

EVERETT, Wash. - Newly-released body camera videos show the early investigation into the disappearance of Ariel Garcia, the 4-year-old boy from Everett who prosecutors allege was killed by his mother Janet Garcia in March.
Janet Garcia is awaiting trial in Snohomish County where she's charged with murder for stabbing her son dozens of times and then leaving his body on the side of I-5, according to court filings. The murder happened within days of Janet Garcia's mother attempting to get custody of Ariel due to the family's concerns about Janet's behavior while under the influence of drugs.

What’s so messed up about the story is the fact that his grandma voiced her concerns. She stated her daughter was a damn danger and threat and she wanted to help protect and provide for her grandson … yet some ignorant ass judge, court and system saw the homeless, addicted, unstable mother fit to keep him. Now he’s dead! How is this okay? This exact thing tends to happen time and time again in America. We are the greatest country. Have all the resources to help our vulnerable yet every single damn day we are failing those who need our help the most. Rather it be veterans, abused and neglected minors, abused spouses, physically challenged or those with mental illness - we are a country that’s notorious for helping the GUILTY, illegals & lawbreakers … meanwhile leaving the innocent & vulnerable to fend for themselves. So disgusting. I’ll never understand how in my own lifetime I went from myself being just a child & being taught & raised one way to then being an adult who is seeing & watching & living the complete other way - everything I’ve been taught is a lie. Im going through the exact same thing with my grandbaby. My daughter is on meth and when I reported her to CPS, she ran to a rehab and her case worker is letting her keep the baby with her! She did no proper investigation and no drug test. And told me that I should have called them sooner. I'm confused at what to do now. I don't want this to be my life and my grandaughter's story.
