I’m a bit behind but definitely like the videos. I body dropped my first truck with zero knowledge of what I was getting into. boy what a venture and it was my daily at the time. But a harbor freight welder and a couple buddy’s it got done ended up doing a stock floor full custom frame all new floor/firewall on another truck later in life now working on a crew cab dually hope you keep building and making videos

I was doing this 30yrs ago and I definitely agree with your assessment. Having done and driven both I prefer a stock floor drop just for the headroom. An s10 has a lot of vertical room so it doesn't matter as much as the import trucks. Your work looks good and it'll be cool to see it done.

@@wrongwaygarage we were doing UT seat of the pants, friend of a friend's knowledge back then. Could've definitely used a guide like this, if you only knew how much unnecessary work was caused by not knowing what we were doing in the late 80s early 90s. Didn't help that a suburban was the first truck we attempted/did.

I was reading a bit on the subject. for your horizontal cuts if you leave a half inch you can overlap and cut and butt. I don't know if I'll ever body drop anything, but I've enjoyed the vids. I'm about to get into doing the rust repair on my 50 Shoebox Ford and still have a ton to do on my 74 Beetle (chop and section) see avatar.

Suspension is a static drop. The only reason for the body drop was to hide the frame slightly. This truck was never intended to lay frame or lay body so there’s no need to for me to do a full body drop. ✌🏻

My plasma cutter is the cheapest one I could get at the time. It does a great job at doing what it is supposed to. But, it seems to suffer from an operator error! The idiot running the plasma cutter can’t seem to cut lines quite as straight as he can with a cut off wheel!😂
