Mistakes are not the best way to learn but you WILL remember. I cut two frames and welded back what i wanted. Then I changed the front axle to a new straight axle with brakes ... not noticing the original was a 2" drop. Now 5 foot away my cab is low in the back by several inches. Lesson - get your axles like you want before you weld them frames together. Now i have to fix that. Loved you videos.

I love the honesty. Your intro is true when modifying any vehicle. Minitruckin magazines got me into wrecking trucks and cars 20+ years ago.. I strayed away from the mini truck world for racecar things.. but now that I am getting older, I figured it's time to get back into the mini truck scene. Obviously a body drop has always been on my wish list..(more specifically a first gen 2 door blazer) I can say I'm extremely happy you're making these videos and being honest with your experience. Too often people just cut to the finished product like, "TA DAA! Its done".. this is perfect. Keep up the good work👍👍👍🍻

Thank you very much! To be honest, I sort of feel the same way when I watch a lot of other videos. In my world mistakes tend to happen more often than they do with other people. But my goal is to show that it can be done even with my lack of knowledge or experience. The simple fact is that sometimes you have to start over! I am willing to show everyone that I’m willing to start over.

Feel like I’m currently going through a lot of the same dilemmas myself. A little late to the video, but my current project is a 87 extended cab s10 I’d like to keep static. Been trying to stay away from a body drop but also would love to hide the frame and be able to get the truck to look a little lower while keeping the frame as a protective piece. Currently watching the videos, but huge thanks for your perspective and take on the body drop!

Another screw up on a streetrod was i used a front mounted rack and pinion behind the axle. Steers wrong way. YES there are two types of Rack and pinion. One has the pinion above the rack and the under one has the rack below the pinion. I learned that lesson. Maybe this will help someone. Keep turning those wrenches.

Looks good man and your right about blocking the frame up, I actually just weld 1x1 tubing on the bottom of the frame side to side front and rear of the cab and once you make your cuts let it come down onto the tubing and you know the rockers and bottom of the frame are lever, you would have to space them up somehow just doing 1.5 inches

I also caught you wanted to keep the frame a little lower then the body.my only suggestion is go ahead and get the body even with the frame because you can add thicker frame bushings.being someone that has had a static dropped truck then a just bagged truck.then moving to body dropping one I've always wanted to go lower.just my opinion and you know what they say. . .

When I built my Dually I did NOT what it bodied , however I knew that if I ever decided to sell it that a bodied Dually would sell better than one that was just low , so I bodied it then put 3/4 spacers under the air bags .
