Wanted to reply to your question 🙋🏼♀️ about the cremation remains and how they end up in storage. A lot of our veterans have health and wellness issues. They are often disabled and suffer mental health issues. Sad but true. If they end up hospitalized, in a mental health facility or a temp housing situation they often lose their home. To feel better about booting them in their toughest time the landlord or caseworker will stick their stuff in storage to give them some time to retrieve their belongings. I’ve seen men and woman service members lose their life long collections in a matter of months. I worked in social services for over a decade and it happens more than you could imagine.

18:19 Fun Fact - When you find a stein with a pewter lid it comes from this... In the dark ages when the Plague was raging over Europe people drank out of steins but realized that they might catch the plague thru their mugs so they added a pewter or even sometimes a wooden lid but that little lid wasn't what they should have been worried about... if only they knew what we know now!

The kicking mule is a very collectible bank. Put a coin on the top of the basket on the back of the donkey and when you press the little lever on the end, the coin is thrown into the barrel on the front of the bank. Really cool, and if it's an original, it could be worth several hundred dollars or more.

I see people mentioning all the stuff I was going to tell you about...some really pretty depression glass and pressed glass (ooh - the one with the sterling base *but it is probably weighted not solid*). Between the gnomes, glass, and that bank (even some of the reproductions go for decent), the desert rose dishes (people look for and PAY for replacement pieces if you don't have a set), hell, even the Stanley thermos, you can flip for decent profit. Hopefully you can give some of this stuff the time it will likely take. Some of the Coca Cola is old, but a lot of what's there doesn't go too far back. Fun locker! Even their cutting board is cool - it's hard to find quality large boards as most are just glued together. The more time you take to flip it all, the better you'll do!
