Been moisturizing within 3 minutes after showering since I was 12 years old, and changing to thicker moisturizers in colder months since I was 16. Along with drinking mostly water and using sunscreen since I was in my teens, my habits are paying off. In my 40’s now but have been told I have the skin of someone in her 20’s.

These guys are so right - moisturize right after the sower and slap on some vaseline over night. Another tip for people with hand eczema/neurodermatitis: use the hydrating facial cleanser as liquid soap - changed my life. Sometimes I don't even need a moisturizer after washing my hands.

You don’t need antibacterial soap to wash your hands on a daily basis
@emilylee9894
@emilylee9894 Жыл бұрын
@@bin4518 we don't need antibacterial soap. In Dentistry and Medicine they are no longer mandated because they cause breakdown of the skin barrier, leading to open wounds in the epidermis. This can lead to infections, eczema, etc.. One is not allowed to work in these fields with open sores and wounds. Also, the overuse of these antibacterial products have led to more mutation in the targeted organisms, making them stronger. Instead wash for at least 30 seconds then rinse with warm to hot water.

Cerave cream (not the lotion) goes on my face and body. Around the eye area and on the lips it works wonderfully. I love the way it leaves the skin - softer and nourished - and the fact that it isn't heavy and gets easily aborbed. A little goes a long way.

I use the Cerave lotion on my face. I’ve had difficulty finding a face lotion that doesn’t either break me out or make my skin look dehydrated. This one is a winner for me. I know we aren’t supposed to use body lotion on the face but it works for me. Not sure why🤷🏻‍♀️. Cerave psoriasis cream has helped my KP much better than the bumpy version. Again, no idea why but the samples have helped me test products out.

You can buy the CeraVe Healing Ointment in very small tubes .35 ounce. It's the only thing that I've found for my chapped lips that is emollient and doesn't have Castor Seed Oil (ricinus communis). Thanks to another one of your videos I learned that my lips are reactive to this ingredient and it it SO COMMION in lip care and lip color products. I was in fact being treated with prescription steroid ointment for my constantly peeling lips when I went cold turkey on all of my lip care products and tried CeraVe Healing Ointment instead. Within 48 hours the peeling stopped and I've never looked back.

I’ve been using CeraVe cream throughout the year on my face and body. I decided for a change because the niocinamide was burning my skin. After I shower in the morning, immediately I apply Necessaire body serum (HA), then Vanicream or La Roche-Posay lipikar Baume AP+M on my face and body. At night, just Necessaire body serum and Versed retinol body cream and sometimes I add LRP retinol mixed in for a bit extra. I also had water softener installed in my bathroom and recently, I got a humidifier. I agree that as you age, your skin does get a lot dryer. Great video!💋

Great info. I would like to add that I was plagued with itchy, very irritated skin on different areas of my body. No topical treatment really helped that much. I also saw my doctor about this. This madness had been going on for months. On my own, I stopped eating gluten. It took about 3 weeks to show improvement. My sibling has been gluten intolerant for years; I only developed this later in life. Her symptoms showed up as digestive issues. This might be something to consider when looking for causes of skin problems.

I shower in like a step above tepid water. What helped me get there, was a space heater. I found I was using hotter water because I was cold. Now I warm the bathroom with the space heater for ten minutes. I also turn the water on for too hot for 30-60 seconds to get a steam started. Now I can shower in much cooler water comfortably and my skin thanks me for it. I also keep my body lotion in the shower. I pat the larger drops of water away with my towel and then put on my lotion while my skin is still super damp. The light steam in the shower helps too because it keeps moisture around my poor eczema strikes skin so I have time to moisturize before my skin can start drying out.

Creeping up on my 50th birthday in February, I've had a lifelong battle with oily skin. Dermatology and skincare has come A LONG WAY in that time and I've done my part to stop sunbathing (at 29)(yes, I know, but my teens were spent in the 80s when you laid out in the sun FOR 8 HOURS on a Saturday), stopped smoking, moisturized, exfoliated (physical before we learned about chemical), and now use retinol. Perhaps my naturally oily skin has helped keep some of the ageing process at bay, but that combined with some basic routine has SERVED ME WELL. I get estimated in my early to mid 30s often. That being said, your channel has brought an INCREDIBLE insight to the knowledge I have about my current routine, and why things I've been doing have assisted me in the last few decades. Thanks soooo much!!!!

At a diabetes clinic, a doctor recently recommended Aquaphor for me, as I've had chronic and extremely dry feet for years and still do at age 58 yo, which the doctor said was not the norm as in my extreme case. In addition, I can't get a good sleep when my dry feet rub against the sheets - I need some moisturizer as a soothing agent. With Aquaphor, I was amazed at the transformation in a short time, where many other creams (Vaseline, Eucerin, Lubriderm, etc.) have never made a difference for me. The dryness and callouses on my feet started to break and flake off, with nice soft skin underneath. So amazing!

Can you do a video on plaque psoriasis. On what it is and what non prescription products to use. And other skin care not to use. Since it’s related to itchy skin.

Love your videos! Very informative and entertaining, enjoyed the intro! From someone who has battled eczema for most of her life I completely can attest to the NO hot showers and moisturizing within minutes after showering, really makes a difference.

Patients routinely took supplies from my dad's medical office. Weird stuff too, like pins whose only function is to poke a body part and test for neuropathy. The end bloopers were quite real scenarios.

Love your videos 😩 I’ve become obsessed with skincare since I’ve started watching your videos 🫣 Can you guys please consider making a video about blocked pores specifically on the breast area. Nothing drastic, just dark blocked pores around the breast 😩

Y'all are a godsend. I loved your skit at the beginning and y'all make the kind of overwhelming skincare world so much easier to navigate! I live in Colorado and have already super dry and sensitive skin so knowing exactly what products to get to help combat the winter scaliness is super helpful, thank you guys!

Thank you doctors you two are great! I have been dealing with dry itchy skin on my lower legs. Cerave is a great moistureizer that I hae been using on my face for years. Just recently I've been using the CeraVe cream on my legs and it works great.

Cerave, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Laroche-Posey. I live by them. Mechanical sunscreen. I burn just looking at the sun so I’ve been using sunscreen for decades. Glad to know my treatments are now prescribed.

Loved all of it! I'm a longtime Cerave fan. I absolutely notice a dramatic change once cold weather hits the midwest and I try to moisturize either in the shower or within minutes but it's tricky because it's cold! I just want to wrap myself in a robe immediately and I also hate the feeling of leaving a residue over everything I come into contact with so it's a delicate balance:)!

Love the skit! Have question: I had thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer last month and have scar at incision point. What is best product to use to mitigate scar? Will protect from sun and am using scar ointment and vitamin E intermittently…is there better process? And yes, you two are both handsome! Love the laughs.
@lindy404

Yes, you are doing things right. I’ve had a thyroidectomy and used a scar gel for several months. Also, keep up with the sunscreen. Use these 2 things for as long as you want. They say a scar takes up to a year to heal.

I have two VERY large surgical scars on my leg (one is a foot long and one is about six inches long) and sun protection and a heavy moisturizer are the way to go. The big one is almost 18 years old and has faded to white. The smaller one is a year old and is almost invisible (well, as much as it can be).

I like the humor in this video😄 I think that constant using of even the simpliest body moisturiser will give a much better effect than accidental use when you already fill that you are DRY as paper. Love CeraVe. I always use it when we have winter in Israel, since it feels for me like a very dry season. And thanks, now I'll know that it's better to set room moisturiser on 50-60%. (I barely got to 50 from 26!!!)
