@@magnusauslandstoresletten3786 : All chart music is pop regardless of genre. And Merseybeat is just a label given to bands who emerged from Liverpool at this time. Rock 'n Roll is not confined to Elvis, Bill Haley etc. Over the years it has evolved into a broader spectrum. Even Hard Rock and Heavy Metal is defined as rock' n'' roll and that's a long way from being the rock 'n'' roll of the fifties and early sixties.

I do too. The 60s was undoubtedly the best music era. I sing 60s songs and a few 50s, and some from the 70s. Also recorded a "duet" with the "guys" !! I also sing musical theatre and even some light opera! So I have a wide range of genres, but I simply adored the 60s. I have all the Searchers videos in my folder now. Shame they split, but hey ho, that's life. I won't fall out with them over it!

Someone please find that documentary on them that John Peel hosted. I'm surprised that there's not one documentary about them, here on youtube.

Tony Hatch wrote this song for The Searchers in '63. Sounds a little like Sheila by Tommy Row from '62 kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpqQqJmbmJp7fbssi=oS4lZFaRASWGV__w

Epstein. Ps. And that's not even true because he had no interest in managing local groups until he saw The Beatles.
