Chris Curtis had a brother in the merchant navy who used to bring records back from America. This song was written by Sonny Bono and Jack Nietsche.

I was 8 years old in '64. This is what was playing in the background of my wonder years... Just one the iconic songs of the 60s that defined the decade... ✌😄

As a poor teenager in the sixties the only concert I attended was in Liverpool starring the Searchers and Booby Vee. Who remembers him?

There is simply no other era like the 60s for many reasons, especially musically!!

I love the, "She's worse to him than me" line. Like you finally see through an ex's crap and you see their new lover as a new victim and you actually feel bad for them.

One of the Best 1960s songs !! The only complaint is that songs were very short in those days!!

Hello Douglas, Agree with you, a unique sound in fact, gets better with age, strange sound, just pure Talent and Hard practice, you can feel something Different in this track! Regards.

They were short because there was limited time on top 40 radio and lots of records to be played. Extended versions of later years were album cuts. It's true that some extended versions were played on the radio like Safety Dance for example. The Wall and Nights Without Satin were better in the 4 minute version. The long versions just included shouting , sound effects and extended instrumental segments.

For real. I love the Dave Clark Five but their albums are so short, like 20 minutes long almost each

You mean like being an 18 year old male in the U.S. and being drafted and shipped off to Vietnam. Or seeing JFK, MLK and RFK assassinated on television. Or see the violence on college campuses with students protesting the war. The difference is there wasn’t the internet back then to see everything that was occurring.

I'd give anything to go back to the 1970's. I can't stand 2021. It was a good time. Everyone was good. No evil. No perversion. No greed. No one was mean. We had morals. Ethics. We were wholesome. The perfect time to grow up.
