I got two small fat rolls under my breasts and it's so annoying in the summer, I can't imagine having fat rolls as big as breasts and being ok with that. Showing them off on the internet is a questionable choice. I don't use social media, but if I did, I would want to look like a take some care of my body.

I have said this before, but I have been obese for pretty much my whole life. Even at my heaviest (386 lbs - now 258 in 10 months!) no one ever bothered me, mocked me, or even stared at me in a noticeable way in my entire adult life. I legit am confused on how these activists are always harassed or whatever. And even if people do, who care? Theyll forget about you the second youre out of sight. They arent worth living in your head rent free Also 💗💗

I have definitely been called out for my weight, and I am not as heavy as you. I've never been mocked as an adult - I only experienced it when I was a teenager, and it wasn't just other teenagers. When I was about 13 I once had a middle aged man mock me on the bus. Believe me it was upsetting.

@@LabradorsAreGoodDogs Yeah when I was a kid I got bullied a lot, but what Im getting at is that Ive never had another adult other than a doctor comment on my weight or body shape whatsoever. Maybe its the culture of the south, but there are so many fat people in America I dont even know how people bat an eye to it anymore, let alone have the energy to comment on a stranger's weight

I got bullied by other kids when I was a child and in my early teens just for being chubby. Never happened to me as an adult. Overweight and obese people are the majority now where I live, someone would have to be extremely obese to get stared at. I did get A LOT of (sometimes nasty) comments when I was very skinny for some time though. Like coworkers feeling the need to tell me what they thought about my lunch or random strangers commenting on my body. Guess it's just socially more acceptable.
@LabradorsAreGoodDogs
@LabradorsAreGoodDogs Жыл бұрын
@@slimmingsidney3419 I think that bullying can stay with people for a long time and colour how they see stuff later in life. But also, people can be brutal online. She probably gets a lot of horrible comments from people who wouldn't say anything in real life.

I wasn't even overweight by a height weight chart (we didn't use BMI back then) and I was yelled at when I walked down the street. I heard people yell, "ugly, fat chick" at me many times. You don't have to be "overweight" to be told that you're fat. People can be mean. I had a fat face until I went through menopause. I look like I weighed at least fifty pounds more than I did from the neck up.

My roommate is obese, and for months he’s been claiming he’s healthy but I convinced him to go get some blood work and go see a primary care doctors. Came home to brag about how great his blood pressure was, how his heart rate was low, essentially telling me I was wrong. A week later when his blood work comes back and he has pre-diabetes and is critically close to being diabetic. Hasn’t changed his diet at all, will ask me for advice (I’m a nutritionist) and then gets upset and then ignored what I suggest. I’m glad that he at least knows what’s going on now, but it’s annoying that he tries every opportunity to say he’s healthy when it just isn’t the case. Weight whatever you want, eat whatever you want, but be informed about what you are doing to your body.

Good for you, getting them to a check-up! Diabetes is scary and an obese person has so much to overcome to learn and change. It sounds like you’ve come far together already, so be as patient as you can? What they probably need is hope and some success stories for motivation and a path. 💫

As soon as I read that his blood pressure/ heart rate was low, I knew you were going to say he is pre-diabetic because that’s one of the symptoms of pre-diabetes. Due to his unwillingness to take his health seriously it sounds like he won’t change till something happens. It’s sad, but that’s usually how it goes.

The gaslit by drs thing I think has gotten a bit out of context with the FA movement It’s gaslighting when they ignore your legitimate non-fat related illnesses and injuries. It’s not gaslighting when a DR points out that you have a fat related health issue, or you’re at risk for one in the future because of your weight. You’re so right about people in this movement just being insecure and wanting the world to change to suit them. If they had the “bodybuilding freaky look but I love it so who cares” mentality I’m sure they’d be a lot happier 😂

I am very body positive, I think you shouldn't tear yourself down and hate yourself for how your body looks (or how you made your body looks). But what I am not is lie-positive. I don't like being lied to and saying you can be healthy at every size is a blatant lie, like it is to say that you're fully happy and satisfied with your life and what you're able to do when you're not in good health. I wasn't fully happy at 35kg, everything hurt: walking barefoot hurt, laying in bed hurt, sitting on chairs hurt. I could run and walk up quite a few flights of stairs because I would push myself really hard, but I was dizzy a lot and would faint easily. So don't push that bs narrative on me, cos I won't believe you. I also don't like people telling me how I feel and what I think. I would never think lesser of my friends/loved ones or shame them for not being a specific body type or for not having a particular lifestyle, I love them no matter what, will stick by them and give them my support when they need it. I believe in being body-positive but I also believe on actively trying to better oneself, one's health and life quality. Everyone should love their body because thanks to it we are alive and functioning, even despite (in some cases) ab**ing it to extremes. It's thanks to my body's resilience that I'm still here, I had given up but it kept me going until I had the strength to make a change. Thank you for coming to my tedTalk ❤ (tiktok cringe drives me up the wall)

I think people should have access to healthy and nutritious foods, and proper healthy food info. I think the biggest issue is people are so used to highly processed highly palatable foods to the point they can't enjoy the taste of whole foods like carrots and apples. Second biggest issue is people think to lose weight they have to starve themselves and work out for 5 hours a day. 💖

My bmi is classified as obese (6ft tall and 230 pounds), and I have never experienced people treating me differently than other people or being rude to me in public. I think it must be that some people are overly sensitive, or too meek/timid when they're out bc they feel uncomfortable with themselves? Like seriously, most people are not rude face to face so I find it hard to believe that these people honestly encounter this type of "discrimination" or rudeness on a daily basis. I live in a very urban area and am 6ft tall for God's sake...and I still don't experience this lol? I think it is honestly about how you feel about yourself bc when you feel like shit about yourself, you think everyone is judging you and talking shit about you 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Edit: yes, I was bullied a bit in high school but I'm pretty sure everyone was/is. It's part of life. And yes people do make comments about my height bc I do like to wear heels. But I have never felt like I've been treated unfairly or rudely in day to day life as an adult bc of my weight. This statement is excluding dating bc obviously ppl have their own preferences on what they find attractive. But trust, just bc you're bigger doesn't mean you don't get plenty of dates! Just wanted to clarify

🤜🤛 Heyy~! Another tall girl like me! I was up to a 27 BMI at the start of the pandemic until I cut out added sugar (hard to do!) and switched to mostly whole-foods. Now I’m working in the opposite direction, bulking up and gaining muscle from a 19 BMI. For real, there is always more attention on us sky-high gals, in heels or not! And like other differences, growing tall definitely has its challenges! I don’t think these TikTokers understand how much worse their lives could be/will be!

💗When I was a kid, I had a bit of a belly. My advise from my mom was to eat less. No mention of exercise. No mention of healthy foods. It did damage. I think that it is only in the last several years that we are learning the importance of eating a healthy, balanced diet that isn’t dependent on highly processed food. We are also learning that exercise is the other half of living a healthy life. And this comes as diets are so dependent on quick, convenient, junk foods. People are moving less. And we are doing this to our children. The last couple of generations are very sedentary and eat junk. Now those that never want to give up that lifestyle are fighting to keep it normal. They want everyone to embrace fat bodies. They know they aren’t healthy. They do it to convince themselves. They are trying to avoid what we are learning more about health now. Hope this made sense.

The jawline one was slightly funny to me, because I just have a round face and even after loosing over 140lbs I still have a fairly soft plumpy face. I think that's just an other depends on how your body carries itself type thing, not a obese or not type thing. Like for sure my face is much leaner but it's still plump. ( i don't mind it ) I just think people should be made aware that even if you loose all the weight your body composition could be much different then someone else's. :) Like I hold my weight completely different then my friend whose the same height as me, and she can get away with being at a higher weigh before it shows then I can. It's all relative to your own personal body comp.

I have a chunky body and although i "love" my body (sometimes i hate it for sure) I have issues with eating and BED (not an amber overeating session but working with a real therapist) I never give up. They have the whole wrong idea of loving your body. Yes its ok to love and accept your body at any size but to truly love it we need to care for it as much as possible. That includes getting closer to a healthy body weight. For me personally i dont feel like i could get to my goal weight for many reasons, but I will try damn hard to get as close as i can! Eating healthy and indulging occasionally and finding something that helps you build up your strength and work your body out without dreading it is my main goal. Ive gotten part way there but i dont use "loving" (their version)my body as an excuse. The sad thing is im not accepted by the fat acceptance movement anyway even though i have some excess fat. Its so weird (apparently we have size privelege?!?!? because we havent let ourselves get to the size of being able to find some clothes in general shops and fit in most chairs) WTF seriously.... Its called fat acceptance but its also only for the morbidly obese not the ones who are just a lil chunky..... sorry rant over (still wtf not that i want to be in the movement or anything but i hope you see what i mean?!)

I’m a bigger woman and I’d love to be a healthy weight. I try most days to eat as healthy as possible and I feel extremely guilty when I don’t. I have a job where I sit at a desk for 12 hours and I have 2 kids under 2 years old. I try to make time to work out but most days it feels like there isn’t enough time. I know when my kids get a little bigger and I have some extra time in my day, I will make it to the gym because it’s something I really want to do. For right now, I’m trying to love myself because I deserve to wake up and not cry looking in the mirror everyday. With that being said, I’m aware I am not healthy. I think there is a difference between loving yourself at whatever stage you are but still acknowledging that stage isn’t physically healthy. People cross that line though and want so badly for people to tell them they are healthy, when it’s just not true

it really makes my teeth itch when you get after people for eating fruit. I’ve lost about thirty pounds in the last six mos (only starting from 175lbs, so it wasn’t like I was shedding weight as easily as a deathfat would) and I still treat fruit as basically a free food because I care more about the water, the fiber content, and the micronutrients than the sugar. like obviously it’s possible to eat too much of anything, but we all know they aren’t getting to the size they’re at because they eat too much fruit, so why make hay of it? makes you seem hypercritical.

I always like how you casually mention you visit the farms. Few people have the guts to admit they visit what is essentially a gossip site with wildly different subcultures depending on what part of the board you're on.

Back in the 1990’s, I was called fat. I was literally size 1 (US) and I’m 5’5” and at that time under 100 pounds. I ate a lot but I also ran and worked out. Now, I’m 170 pounds and no one ever mocked way I looked when I was 216 pounds to now at 170. I was more mocked when I was way underweight and being called a fat ass. That makes no sense lol

I am not skinny but not this weight at all as well. They cannot say they’re healthy and happy though. I accept abs respect them and I don’t care how they look I just feel sorry because even now with my weight, a bit more on the hips, I already feel like the quality of my life is not as good as it could be. I feel sorry that they can’t or don’t want to see it and wish they could get help to live a full life that they deserve 😢

I had hungry howie's at a work event. It was dry and tasteless. With me already barely liking pizza I was done. Now make at home pizza twice a year. It was chicken alfredo.

Yes it's so easy to get fat. The one think I like about the fat acceptance movement is once you find yourself fat bc for the majority of ppl now you are going to get fat. You don't see ppl covering up there are actual styles and outfits and all kinds of things ppl can wear in all stages it's pretty great

Yeah, I think people of all sizes should have access to clothing, that's not just moomoos. Especially comfortable workout clothing and professional work wear.
