how to get strength to pull rings to my chest once in the false grip hang?
@chanding3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, thanks for advice. Here's a question - would you recommend training daily for these types of exercises or leave days in between for muscle rest and growth?
@GaingsterKid5 жыл бұрын
This will sound crazy and made up BUT it's not. I just did my very first muscle up. Right now!!! I was working on the false grip , FULL rom dips and pull ups for sometime. I never tried a ring muscle up before. I was preparing for it but never tried it. I watched the video. At 6:30 I paused it and went to try a muscle up for fun (the bar where I hang the rings is in my room). And guess what ? I did my very first muscle up following the tips Tom gave. Just to make sure it wasn't out of sheer luck I took 60s rest and went for a second one. The transition was a bit hard but I did it. A tuck* ring muscle up. Thanks Tom!!! Edit: * By tuck I meant L-sit.

That‘s a great tutorial!! I can do muscle ups on the bar but I‘m still struggling on the rings. Definitely a bit different in the transition where I feel you can cheat a little on the bar when you generate enough upward momentum on the pull up... maybe it’s just the different motion that is throwing me off... But the progressions help a lot in figuring out the correct movement! You‘re a great coach! Thanks for putting this together!

That’s strange, I always heard the ring muscle ups were harder than a bar muscle up, anyone’s thoughts on this?

Probably because with no technique the ring muscle up is very demanding for physical strength. But with proper technique it's the other way around.
@joaopedromoreira76385 жыл бұрын
i can do it on rings but not on pullup bars, in my experience the rings demand less pulling strenght;
@tbn225 жыл бұрын
I can do both, and in my humble opinion, the rings are easier. I learned the bar muscle up first, back in 16. Early last year I learned the ring muscle up. The rings are easier because you can more easily "lean" into the transition. On the bar you "manoeuvre around" the bar, which is more difficult.
@marianotamola52404 жыл бұрын
Yes but the tricep extension part is easier at the bar than in the rings
