After watching too many KZbinrs like Samcrac and JR garage buy lambos is and Ferraris at auction and fix them up, Jake, you are a breath of fresh air in the vehicles you get back on the road.

Maybe should have mentioned it on the Car Wizard's channel, but really enjoyed Jake's recent video with him telling about the issues / problems that us shade tree mechanics -- now apparently called hobbyists -- come up against. Very relevant --- good job Jake!

Killer deal on a great little truck. You're going to love it the more you drive it. They're dead nuts reliable with very minimal maintenance.
@Celician833 жыл бұрын
At least you went the easy route, everything on my front end was broken, and there was a locked up 99 sitting at my dad's, so went down that rabbit hole of swapping the entire front end to the facelift....
@100PercentJake3 жыл бұрын
I prefer the early front ends so this was definitely the preferred method for me, lol
@Celician833 жыл бұрын
@@100PercentJake unfortunately the front core support, headlight mounts, and grille were broken, and the fenders smashed at the doors. The parts from the 99 were free, so really my best choice besides spending money on a truck I paid $250 for, lol.

Jake: Great work! With a few plastic push pins (attach the plastic bumper filler on the bottom) and people would love to buy this little pick-up! Nothing is more handier than an older pick up truck! LOL. I'm sure you will make money when you sell it. Good job!
@69Dartman3 жыл бұрын
I did that with mom and step dads old 93 Taurus back about 15 years ago when you could still find them all over the yards. She kept backing into stuff so I found another 93 the exact same color and paint wear withba good rear bumper, taillight, and lower trim piece. When I was done you couldn't tell anything happened. I saved the last slightly damaged rear bumper and when someone ran into the replacement and destroyed it in our driveway when we were borrowing it I put the old one back on that was still better and we drove it some more. They are hard to find now but back then they were everywhere in that light metallic blue green that was popular. I think we paid 150 for everything.

Watching this makes me want to go out and mess with my 2000 2500 GMC I just picked up for 1800 bucks. Body looks like total trash, but it has a clean frame(which is a miracle in my part of NW Ohio), new brake lines, and rock solid oil pressure. Same deal as your Ranger. Somebody didn't love it and I'm going to drag it back from the brink and save it from the scrapyard so I can use it as a tow pig and general work truck. I'm enjoying the videos about your Ranger, keep it up.

Nice fix on the front if you take it for a bath I would power wash most of the interior, even better if you know someone with a diesel steam cleaner use that it is great on interiors years ago I was helping out at a Prestige Valet centre and we had a Mercedes estate car with less than 40 miles on the clock, it had a 10 litre can of paint burst open and flow over all the carpets from the rear section to the front and also out of the back over the paint work, we hit it first with the steam cleaner while popping all the body grommets and then removed the seats letting us drain most of it out through the floor once we cleaned the paint out and dried the car with a gas heater like you use in the garage we used to aim it in to the car through the door and open all the windows about 2 inches so there was a flow of air or you can melt a dash, that car was fine and the owner used to come in once a month until he traded the car 5 years later for another Mercedes.
@300DBenz3 жыл бұрын
I reiterate my previous comment in the last Ranger video: Get rid of that nasty carpet and replace it it with a red one, then dye the vinyl parts of the red seats grey to make a cool-AF two toned interior!
