PA rural and urban elected Fetterman, with his shorts & hoodie. He represents us and we don't care what he wears. He's authentic and more than competent. Hawley wears suits and tried to overthrow the government (amongst others). So there's that.

Regarding Lauren Bobert and so many on the right, firstly she was asked not to vape by another patron and didn’t, that’s rude. Regarding the groping and affairs, it’s not the sex, it’s the Hypocrisy. So many of those people spout ‘Christian values’ the sanctity of marriage and screw around on the side, the attitude is ‘not for me, for thee’. Regarding the senate/congress dress code, a dress code is irrelevant when people spout rubbish and don’t act in the interests of the constituents. I’d note that another podcast said Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley used to come to the floor to vote in workout clothes straight from a session in the gym.

Sarah makes a fine point about appearances, but let's face it, right now the Senate dress code is just a veneer maintaining the fiction that being a senator is "an important job" and not the lifetime sinecure it has become. All they do is stand around and talk and enjoy social and legal privileges. Fetterman might dress "like a gym teacher" but he at least is treating it like a real job while a real gym teacher in a suit is singlehandedly screwing up the chain of command in the US military

Dress codes protect toes tho that's the part we all forget. It's usually safety related. I COULD wear soft toe boots and be more comfortable but if drop something on them these steel toes will protect my toes. Fetterman should remember that

Also loose clothing like the kind fetterman wears can be a hazard. Just a couple years ago a woman went into the machine at the packing house here in Del Rey because she ignored the dress code. I don't remember if it was loose clothes or jewlrey but I do remember that it was sad. Always observe the dress code it is there for your safety.

I can't believe Tim even gave a second thought to the choice between Beyonce and the second Republican debate. Beyonce wins that one every time, and I can't imagine anyone holding that against him. 100% on Tim Millers side with the dress code. For Fetterman, it keeps him in touch with who he is and who he answers to. And since NONE of them have done that thus far, we're going to go with the Fetterman/Tim dress code....

Regarding the dress code for Congress: at the present time we have so many other issues that require our attention. Some in Congress supported an Insurrection, are believers in Quanon and authoritarianism and give hand jobs on camera in public. If our country was more stable, a dress code could be an important issue to discuss. But we gotta pick our battles people. The government is close to shutting down.

Before I heard Sarah and Tim's debate about Fetterman's attire I was kind of thinking like Sarah, but what Tim argues make sense to me. Fetterman is extremely popular amongst the constituents who elected him BECAUSE of who he is. Exactly who he is. Just like Jim Jordan. I've been paying attention to Charlie Sykes and his guests that keep saying the Dems aren't connecting with/are losing the working class. So maybe Fetterman isn't being 'disrespectful', but rather the opposite. Maybe he knows his people and knows that they relate to someone who is a visual representation of their reality.

You have to come to grips with the sad fact that in terms of the voting public a third are stew of Radical Reactionary Resentment that's been nursed on fifty years of GOP outrage farming spread by their media allies. Another third is an alliance of "Centrists", slightly Left of Center Post War styled "Liberals" and a small but growing, and getting more active contingent of "Leftists" that range from committed Social Democracy types to those that have a more radical commitment to Leftist politics and ideals. The final third? Political incoherents. Point blank. They have no moorings and it's not because they are "above" partisan politics. They are incurious with no desire to build a cohesive or practical political world view. It's why you get Obama voters that cast votes for Trump twice.

As much as I like Tim, I have to agree with Sarah on the senate dress code. I was always taught to dress for the job you want...not for the one you have. There is a time for gym shorts and another for suits. I never saw anyone attend a funeral dressed in a hoodie and sweat pants. There's a time and a place for everything. I fear that we are hanging onto decorum by our fingertips. What on Earth will happen when senators start appearing on the senate floor looking like they are on their way to a pick-up basketball game? Also, I wish people would stop referring to the House GOP as a clown show. It's giving a bad name to clowns! I go to the circus to be entertained by clowns. I vote for politicians to represent me in congress. Get your sh*t together and start doing your job working for the American people.

Saying Trump’s chances of being president again are at 45% is being way too optimistic; he is guaranteed of being the GOP nominee, and the electoral college is skewed to favour the Republican candidate, so Trump is more realistically at 55 to 60% likely of being president again. 🤦‍♂️
