You made many good points. If Egbali wants to run things then he needs to do press interviews as do the sporting directors. They need to stop hiding, stop lying, stop misdirecting, stop gaslighting. The public face of this club is extremely dishonest.

Todd Boehly needs or should partner up with the PSG owner Sheikh Jazeem or the Saudis in order to buy the majority shareholder of Behdad Eghbali and jose Feliciano. Todd Boehly wants to win now by signing a marquee players. On the flipside Behdad Eghbali wants to make money by signing young players to make a profits later and not give a filp about the success of the club.

The current Chelsea ownership reminds of when Hicks and Gillette ownership of LFC. They were two Americans who owned that club and could not get along. Ultimately the club had to be auctioned off bc one of them didn’t have the finances to keep it a float.

Withstanley needs to go and we need to get rid of the so call clear lake and get a new bridge Stamford bridge nothing sweeter than Wayne bridge at Highbury. Champions league start of our rise .we look forward to a bohely ( and bodly)beginning. Be blessed dan.

I don't know if I want either of Todd or Eghbali as owner. But the thing that scares me with Todd is, we've seen him run the show during year 1. It was not a good look, it wasted resources we couldn't really afford to waste, and that bit of rampant mismanagement is why we have to do shenanigans now. Because we made such foolish decisions with zero consideration of the long term picture. I don't like Eghbali, I'd love for him to buy a one-way ticket to Mars, but optimization is optimization and doing it short term is what's known as a greedy approach. Another term is steepest ascend. Basically, to get to the highest point possible, you check your surroundings and climb up the steepest ascend. That's great if you live at the foot of Mt Everest but terrible if you live in the Netherlands. What I'm trying to say is, short term thinking usually leads to long term disaster, and trying to fix the problems caused by short term thinking with yet more short term thinking might delay the reckoning but it won't diminish it. Arguing that Boehly was right in just buying big name players with no though involved and the only issue is that he bought the wrong big name players, and if only we had a single sporting director then we might buy the right big name players? That, to me, is short term thinking. Where we want to be is mostly self-sustainable. The way to get there isn't to take the PSG route of just pouring endless money into a hole until we somehow get it right, and if we try then we'll run so far afoul of PSR that forced relegation might end up on the table. I dislike most of what Clearlake does on general principle, but the reality is that buying all these kids is setting us up for a good period, assuming we have the right manager. We do need to stop the constant chaos and we do need to stop having the owners involved in absolutely everything that is happening. They're not qualified for that level of involvement. We do need a single club director with overall responsibility. But just calling it a "30 year plan" to buy random big name players will not take us back to where we need to be. This kid approach? Look at how good our team actually is. A conventional striker to round things off, as well as support defenders that don't suck, and a keeper we actually trust would all be nice things. But Cole Palmer, Estevao, Paez, Nkunku, that's some serious firepower. Having Caicedo, Lavia, Santos in midfield? That's some serious midfield muscle. Having Madueke, Sancho, Neto, Felix for depth? The reason we're talking about terrible results and lack of winning is because we've dropped the ball repeatedly in terms of getting the right manager. I'm not sure Maresca is the right choice but I think we're all agreeing that Poch definitely wasn't the best long term solution either.

You had me until you rated the young talents. I'm sorry but I only see about 2-3 players in our current squad who can flat out consistently show their talent. You talk about the potential of these players, but what if they don't develop to show their true potential? And what if I were to tell you their full potential cannot be unlocked due to the inconsistency of management and guidance? It all starts with the ownership and trickle downs to the players. The other point I'll bring up is, as much hype you have for these players; what's to say they won't be sold in due time? You really think Palmer will stay and fulfill his full contract? They will all be flipped eventually.
@Monochromatic_Spider
@Monochromatic_Spider 8 күн бұрын
@@ivano8391 There is always the risk of a player not reaching their potential. It hurts a lot less when we only paid 20-30 mil than when we bet the farm on them and paid 70+. Obviously I'm not making any guarantees about what will happen. I think Eghbali does want the team to compete, because a competing team is worth more than Brighton, but you are absolutely right that we can't rule out boneheaded decisions where the spine of the team gets sold. I'm not looking to underplay that problem. But you're assuming we wouldn't do that under a Boehly management. You're assuming he'd be a competent owner who wouldn't get involved and make silly decisions to boost the team short term. Having said all this, I do think you're selling the team way short. Having a pivot of Caicedo and Lavia is something we'd have killed for a couple of years ago. Gusto as right back is about as good as right back is likely to get. Colwill and Fofana central defense isn't top tier yet but it's not bad. And the potential of Palmer, Nkunku and Estevao is nuts. That kid isn't even 18 yet and he's taking the mickey out of adults in Brazil. And he's not doing it with raw physicality, he's just not where they think he is. That's the difference between him and dribblers like Neto and Madueke, who rely so much on raw acceleration. There's never a guarantee that anyone can unlock their talent but I'd much rather bet on Madueke and Neto short term and then see what Estevao can do.

Clearlake are absolutely the worst thing to happen to Chelsea. Refer to their statements, profit only no mention of success on the pitch. Eghbali believes he has appointed the "best in class" with the useless Stewart and Winstanley. Their brief is to make a profit from player sales not building a team.

Since Eghbali is "Poch Out" im Clearlake In. Todd has shown what kind of transfers he would prefer when he was interim Sporting Director. Since Clearlake already said they will stay nothing will change. Clearlake can now and in the future call the shots. They are already majority shareholders. And remember when the hotels got sold it was Clearlake and not the consortium who bought them. Most of the money spend came from their pockets. So an 2,5bil offer wouldnt even cover their cost so far. Todd needed investors back then. He will need new ones if he tries to make an offer. So we change a majority shareholder with another? The stage is set for: Todd tries to b/o Clearlake with a "low value" offer. Clearlake will happily pass. They will offer buying shares from the other 2 people. They will convince one to sell. Todd will come out and tell the media he has given up to buy Chesea FC. He cant strike a deal with Clearlake and thus will sell his own shares now.

A lot of Chelsea fans are convinced that Egbahli doesn't want to win now. And I'm genuinely curious, what informs this notion? You don't make signings like Felix(50m), Dewsbury Hall, Tosin, Disasi, Sancho, Neto, etc. to flip for profit. They will barely have any resale value. If Chelsea start winning, they'll generate more money from TV rights and sponsorships, hence Egbahli and Clearlake would make more profit. If Chelsea wins trophies, Egbahli and Clearlake would make far more profit than just from flipping assets. They are very interested in winning, as much as anyone.
@Monochromatic_Spider
@Monochromatic_Spider 8 күн бұрын
Actually Sancho is almost certainly a for-profit signing. At 25 mil, we almost can't avoid making a profit at some point. Felix, I think that was a compromise with an idea that in a couple of years, if he does okay, we'll probably be able to sell for 30-40 and that's at least break even. That aside, I do think Eghbali wants to win, or at least be competitive. What worries me is that he also wants to make decisions in a field he's not all that familiar with, and that is often a recipe for problems.

All of those mentioned names mentioned are not exactly superstar proven winners, they are either on low wages or discounted prices or both. It doesn't mean I disagree on all of them, but that there's a clear pattern there. Top quality players get paid top quality money everywhere. You've got to pay to have them. For example I would change Felix and Dewbury Hall any day for a top quality striker who would also compliment Jackson. Even if it means paying a bit more than usual. Haaland is on £375k a week, KDB even more. Salah is on £350k and could rise to £400k next year. Havertz on £280k at Arsenal. Guess how much is our wage cap so far under the new structure (post Boehly-TT)? ... It's Enzo with £180k a week. The surplus accumulation of certain positions despite lack of need only makes sense if one is trying to increase individual values rather than overall harmony. For all we know given Clearlake's reputation as venture capitalists, they could also be doing the same with the club i.e. focusing solely on resale value, regardless of whether on-pitch success comes along or not. And before we roll out the FFP excuse, let's clear it up that FFP was brewing since 2009 and had been in place by 2011-12 season. We still won decent amount of trophies even after that while mostly being in top 4. And yes also paying high wages to likes of Hazard and Kante. All these point towards Clearlake being finance focused more than anything. Spurs show you one can be financially stable yet win nothing. Fans fear we might be heading that way. Forever future optimistic, but never delivering.
@guyinyang06
@guyinyang06 8 күн бұрын
@@hnaku8748 I never said those were top quality superstars; I used those names to prove that Clearlake aren't solely focused on flipping players for profit. The board and manager believe that these players all add something to the team. Whether you agree with the signing or not, you can't tell me that Felix, Sancho, Dewsbury Hall, Tosin, Neto, etc aren't quality players. I think the wage structure is fine. It's there to prevent a Lukaku/Sterling situation. Ideally, they want to sign players on low wages, and make them earn the wage increases e.g Palmer. If he keeps hitting those high numbers, while we're winning trophies and consistently in the Champions League, his wages might reach the heights that you speak of. It ensures that all individual benefits are in line with the team's performance. It makes a lot of sense. Besides, players need to play to increase their value. How would they do that if they're just rotation options? We might not be able to make profit on most of these players because they won't play too much, won't increase their value, and we might take losses if we decide to sell. See? It is a risk. It is far from certain that we will make a profit on any of these guys. PSR has existed since, but the PL has been very lax/lazy with implementing the rules. Only last season, did they start seriously sanctioning teams over breaches since 2011. There have been breaches, but the sanctions have never been more brutal. Besides, the PSR are changing from next year. If you study the new rules, you'll understand that most teams can't afford to have multiple players on huge contracts.
@guyinyang06

@@Monochromatic_Spider Sancho may retain his value, but he can only do that if he plays regularly and performs well for us. If he does that he is almost guaranteed to stay at Chelsea for a good while before he's sold. If we make a profit on Sancho, it means he has performed very well for us, it's a win-win situation. Same with Felix. Unless they perform terribly and we're forced to sell for less, I don't see how it damages us. I'm not saying they were necessary, I'm saying they could be beneficial. I don't think Egbahli is controlling all the sporting aspects. We have SDs, scouts and technical departments for a reason. I think that he's just the final guy who signs off the decisions which have already been made by those under him- like a president. He may also be involved in negotiations where necessary. I'm not too worried about his lack of experience. Before a decision reaches him, it must have already been heavily scrutinized by the technical department.
@hnaku8748

@@guyinyang06 "you can't tell me that Felix, Sancho, Dewsbury Hall, Tosin, Neto, etc aren't quality players" ... Former two are here only because their previous clubs considered them a flop, and I don't even mind the Sancho signing (as his Dortmund stint was good), but there's a reason they took a wage cut, and trust me it isn't because they love Chelsea. Dewbury Hall was in Championship last season and relegated the season before. Tosin was a free agent and played for Fulham. Neto is okay, but still would have preferred we got Olise. "It's there to prevent a Lukaku/Sterling situation." ... Both Lukaku and Sterling were because of a lack of clinical scouting/recruitment. Not because we spent money. We had Haaland as a choice with Lukaku, and we went the budget route. Again, Haaland was bought straight on £375k a week and still on that at City. "FFP has existed since, but the PL has been very lax/lazy with implementing the rules." ... FFP and PSR are different. There's lot of flaws in your take mate, I can't point them all out. But be assured so many fans being anxious over Clearlake are not for nought. It's one thing to be optimistic, and another to be naive and oblivious.

Never had any of this distracting crap with Roman Abramovich as the USD $Multi-Billionaire sole owner (with a very astute and trained up since university by her boss), Marina 'The Negotiator' Granovskaia. The Russian/Israeli superyacht-owning oligarch's friendship with president Vladimir Putin is what the British government used to santion Abramovich and force the sale of Chelsea FC. It took 19 years to build a world class brand of a football club, with Stamford Bridge home stadium trophy rooms chock full of quality silverware pots: UEFA Champions' League wins; Europa League wins (the only professional British football club to hold both cups at the same time); European Super Cup; World Club Championship; 5×English Premier League wins; FA Cups and League Cups galore! Just 2 years of American Clearlake Consortium ownership, to destroy it and contribute nothing to Chelsea's development. Todd Boehly and Behad Eghbali have spent £1.4Billion and gone through 5×head coaches to absolutely no avail. They apparently don't know what the heck they're doing . . . What a travesty!

I think it is a story made by owners' representatives. Who published the story first? Blomberg. Boehly and Eghbali have good relationships with Blomberg, and if it really was a story it wasn't published. We know how American sports companies making money by selling licences to be their publisher. You need to have stories, so publisher can make money and pay you. Calm down people.
