I forgot to tell you, there's a Uni sitting outside of Wilmington with a corn head and a husking bed (don't know if its the same) Get a hold of me if you want the details.
@paulh97393 жыл бұрын
After working with Uni Systems for 50 years I can tell you about one little problem that you will have with putting a 700 series husking bed on an 800 series power unit. The 800 series power unit is longer and that means that cob elevator is too short. I ran one that way one season and it was sort of a pain. I'm sure that you will figure out a solution. Happy Picking!

So I think the rear axle slides so that you can move the wheel closer to the frame. It gives you more space to drive into and away from the attachment. My Dad had one of these with all the attachments when I was real little so I never really helped much with swapping out attachments. But he never needed to use fork lifts and skids steers and struggle the way you are.
@edreisinger57573 жыл бұрын
There was a little bit of difference between the frames on the newer style and older power units. That is why your rear bracket was off.

Reminds me of trying to attach or remove a 60” deck from a Toro 5xi garden tractor like a 522xi. Owners manual instructs to slide deck, turn steering wheel, slide deck, turn steering wheel the other way, slide deck, turn steering wheel, slide deck etc. The manual should have just said block rear wheels, lift front of tractor with a floor jack, slide deck sideways, lower floor jack, engage attach a matic. Pull floor jack away.

Don't underestimate your Lincoln 225. I got mine for Christmas when I was 16. I realize it's AC only. But, I have used it to build and repair all kinds of stuff! Replaced the leads and stinger several times. However, I have never touched the insides! It's a tough machine you can count on. I bet your altered bracket holds just fine.

I have had fairly good luck finding the belts from a place called off-road v belts. I think they are in Rock valley, Iowa, they have a huge d&d belt Warehouse right next to them I think. What I have done is cross reference my combine belt out of a shoup catalog or Google, to find my size, or sometimes they have a cross reference also. I got a belt that John Deere wanted $80, for $15 for my old 218 bean head. I hate going to the dealership, because I always feel like I'm getting ripped off, because of things like John Deere workers going on strike.
@farmcentralohio3 жыл бұрын
Going to any dealership a person is getting ripped off anymore, doesn't matter the brand. Great suggestion with that company, I've gotten belts from them myself and been plenty happy.
@lucasaccount5733 жыл бұрын
Workers going on strike doesn’t make belt prices go up. Prices go up because they won’t a better margin.
@seth17043 жыл бұрын
@@lucasaccount573 when the workers are demanding more pay and John Deere has to comply and pay them more, then parts prices have to go up as well to help compensate for that, is what I'm trying to say. I'm sure all prices are going up because of the feds printing of mass amounts of dollars and the unchecked inflation we are now experiencing.

The husking bed only runs 2 belts. The combine runs 3, the chopper may run more. If you think you will never have the bed off again, you must not figure on owning it long. Did you not get the legs with the bed? It is common for the brakes to not work on the hydro Unis, because they never get used. I hope you installed the 2 mounting bolts in the front at the tube and saddle.
