Good move putting that cart in place, that heavy drive piece was a back killer!!

It's pretty cool that you can get more than just tires out of the gleaner. I'm really looking forward to seeing the uni going.

I always like seeing someone who is able to get a part off of one machine to use on another machine good job Jacob.

The best use of a retired machine is reusing any and every part you can for something else.

Great farmer fix, use what you have on hand save money at the same time. Good luck with the rest of your repairs!

Your doing exactly what I've always done with nearly everything I buy. Bring it home. Tear into it. Try and get it in the best possible condition to do the work. I want it to do. All the while, watching my neighbors. Run up and down the road with brand new stuff!! 😛

The brakes often aren't in working condition on the hydro Unis because they never get used. However, they then corrode and start self energizing, dragging and locking up. So guys take the guts out. I have seen a 709 where it was doing this and tore the threads out of the four tapped holes in the final drive where the brake housing bolts to.

Keep wrenching! I usually run the slowest one out only to find it bottoms out my socket and I have toput it back on some to get the socket/ratchet off and finish with a slower end wrench. There has gotta be that one!

Be careful of using Crome sockets on impacts. They can shatter. Seen it happen.

What happened to the 300 husker? I've never dealt with a uni, but a pull type new idea leaves a lot to be desired compared to a deere. About the only thing you are gaining is the self propelled aspect. But then I'd forget the ear picking and just chop and bag earlege and be done with it.
@boehmfarm42763 жыл бұрын
I'm not feeding much ear corn, I'm selling it, beating the market with my own price and mostly having bit picked up rather than deliver.

Hey it a uni with a hydro you want to stop your not going to use the brakes they won't stop it just bring the hydro to stop. Brakes are over rated you'll see .
