I got a question, I dont quite understand the apu generators in the middle panel, can someone explain it to me? And one more thing does the engine hydraulic 1 and 2 have to be on at the same time as electrical hydraulic 1 and 2?
@baxtercat54624 жыл бұрын
The APU generator switches will connect the APU generator to both AC transfer buses via an Auxillary Power Breaker (APB) that closes the circuit. When only one APU generator switch is used, the other side's transfer bus is still powered through the tie bus and the two bus tie breakers (BTB) as long as the Bus Transfer Switch is in AUTO. So you really only need to use one APU generator switch because bus tie system will continue to power the entire electrical system. However, if you also select the second APU generator switch, that side's respective SOURCE OFF light will no longer illuminate, so its recommended to use both switches to extinguish that annoying light. Engine driven hydraulic pumps should always be on. The electric motor driven hydraulic pumps should be turned on before starting the engines, or sometimes after starting the engines (depending on company procedures)

@Baxter Cat! So you really only need to turn on *one* APU GEN switch? Do you know why they implemented two switches instead of just having one switch do the work?
@baxtercat54624 жыл бұрын
The Comedy Pilot - excellent question! I actually was thinking about this exact same question yesterday. The reason is because of the following: Imagine you have one AC Transfer Bus powered by the engine-driven generator, and the other side’s AC Transfer Bus is also powered by its respective engine-driven generator. If you move the left APU GEN switch to ON, then the left side will receive APU generator power, while the right side will continue to receive power from its engine-driven generator. Consequently, if you put the right APU GEN to ON, then the right side will receive APU generator power, while the left side will continue to receive power from its engine-driven generator. The only circumstance where you could only move one APU GEN switch to ON and still power the entire electrical system, is when there are no engine-driven generators available. Hope this helps!

@@baxtercat5462 Actually that does make sense, and the blue bus lights are also a good visual reference because it shows you if you have the APU GEN switches on and what GEN switches are on for the engines. Your comment really cleared that up for me, so thank you it was a great help!

It doest happen, because even if he turn all the fuel pump switchs to OFF, the 737 engine will still draw fuel from the respective main tank
@baxtercat54624 жыл бұрын
@@franciscojunior1463 yes, i believe (correct me if i'm wrong) the engines can still suction feed fuel from the main tank when the AC fuel pumps are inoperative
