It's a stabiliser for a trailing wire static source which measures static pressure readings free of any air disturbance near the aircraft itself.

+sadman hoque Boeing Industries was founded in 1916 and now we have 2016 - so Boeing starts the second century since their establishment. ... But Boeing Industries "says" that Boeing was established on the 15th July in 1916 that would mean that the first century of Boeing is not completed.

***** There is a planned 737MAX-9 A redone 737-900ER in MAX form. Also, the NEO is outselling the MAX because it entered the market before. All you get with NEO is new engines. this is what NEO stands for: New Engine Option.

The drogue is only on the flight test airplanes. The split winglets, newer engines and wider fuselage are the main features.
